E52 - loose cover problems

[ Edited ]

This is my first post and topic here,so I want to say Hi to all!

It's too bad I have to start with complaining and it's even worse that this is the first Nokia I have bought.

For like 6 years I had only 2 phones - Siemens M55 and SE k800i so I decided it's time for a change and thought E-series are great option.

I read a lot of opinions regarding e52,but it was a spontaneous decision to buy it.

I really like the phone - WiFi, decent camera ( not as good as SE ,but hey ... Buy a camera if u want nice pictures),good sound quality and 3,5 jack, nice applications and so on. Still trying the GPS overall I'm very happy with it.

However its construction is the thing that I really hate! The right soft keys or whatever its called with the erase button is unusable ... Why? Because everytime I press it I hear that squeaky sound and I cannot stand it. When I type message, even if I press it while I'm talking ...

And the second thing - the back cover ... C'mon ... It's moving like there is an earthquake. Okay , Im exaggerating but really when I hold the phone in hands and I just press the back cover not hard, its moving in and out and again its making sounds like its going to break ...

I really would like to try all the phone features, but this constructions is just bull **bleep** ( sorry for the expression ).

Is there any way I can ask for a refund of my money because of the things above or at least they can change my back cover and the front panel?! Any way they can change those movings and the squeaky sound? Anyone else with my problem ?? Just for referecen - phone is made in Finland and number is RM-469. I read about RM-469 that most of them are defective ...

Thanks in advance! I would really love some help, because 200 euro is a lot of money for me and I expected I will get something good that I will use for years. Now the idea to sell it for half price and spend another 200eur for a same features phone doesnt fit in my plans. :smileysad:

Re: E52 - loose cover problems

guys?

Anyone ... I doubt that I am the only one with this problem with the loose cover and the squeaky noise ...

Should I take it to service center for change or they will refuse to change my panels ?

Re: E52 - loose cover problems

.The phone is so bad that it is making incredible! For example, where you push the SIM card is so badly executed that it withers and destroys the card if it is periodically inserted and ejected. I do not know how to solve this problem, a new SIM card after removing a few, it seems like I've scratched the use of 30 years or that I was processing the grit sandpaper. There are no rules where it was purchased and when the phone is bad design and we can no longer to be repeated. clear plastic and unnecessarily thin and they had to sacrifice quality.

Re: E52 - loose cover problems

The backspace (delete) key on my E52 also squeaked for sometime though it no longer does.

Re the battery cover, I've found that taking off the cover and gently bending the end with the catch outward will help it sit better on the phone, reducing the movement and noise. Have to do this from time to time but it did cure the problem.

Yea,probably have to give it some time to stop squeaking ,but no idea.

I'm already thinking of returning the phone but I doubt they will accept it with my issues above ...

deki84,I agree regarding the SIM. I also ejected it several times and it looks like it has ben used for years !!!

Guys, another question. When I'm speaking with someone - I hear them very badly.

I saw some discussions here that the other party was not hearing well the conversation, but I have the opposite problem.

Actually the voice is clear enough with no noise, but when I'm outside let's say and even there is not a lot of traffic when I speak to someone I have to repeat several times - what?what? I cant hear you ? and my phone sound is on maximum ?!

I'm really disappointed with this, why can't I increase the volume more , like it's made for speaking in super quiet rooms etc.

Any problems with this?

I just tried my last SE k800i and volume is like 2-3 times better,of course a lot of noise on the higher level , but at least I can choose high volume to hear wha they speak to me ...

Can they really change my phone because of the voice problem and the construction or I have to live over it ?

Re: E52 - loose cover problems

E52 has the worst sound in the ear compared with all phones, no depth, the sound is muddy and miserable! And I can not believe, cheaper phones have a better sound in the earpiece of this phone.

Re: E52 - loose cover problems

I can live with the squeaky noise and all, but tell me really like deki84 said - how a phone that worths 200 euro actually is not a phone, because you cannot even use its main function - phone calls!? I barely hear the other side. Have it for 1 week and I think of selling it ...

deki84 what happened to yours? You still have it, they changed it at the phone store or ?

Re: E52 - loose cover problems

I remove and reinsert the SIM card on my E52 very often as I use the same SIM in the fixed cellular terminal on my yacht and apart from the slight inconvenience of having to remove the battery every time to do that I have no problems with SIM damage at all. (you are removing the battery first aren't you, perhaps you are not if you are having problems with the SIM being damaged :smileysurprised:?)

I have not had any of the other build problems you are complaining about either. Perhaps some people roughly handle their phones in which case they should assess their particular needs and buy a ruggedised phone.

What I don't understand is if ones phone really does have such problems why don't you take it back for replacement or repair instead of spending all ones time moaning about it?

Hm ... cause I've been searching the net whole day and cannot find better phone than this one.

I want to keep it and try to check if others have the same problems.

And no, I am not harsh with the phone. It's like that since the first time I opened the box. And of course I remove the battery ... I guess there are just some defective covers or whatever.

I just want a tight cover - Im ok with the plastic, but c'mon - the cover is moving ... and the other thing I explained - I barely hear people even on maximum. This is not normal ... and I have no hearing problems.

I will go for replacement for sure, but I gather information what I should tell them. I cannot just go the their office - hey guys, I actually dont like this phone. There is too much plastic in it, will you change it for e71. Doesnt sound reasonable to me, does it?

Re: E52 - loose cover problems

No point complaining here, none of us are going to come and fix your phone for you.

Take it back and tell them that you can't hear on it and the back cover is loose, and so please fix it or replace it. I can't understand why you have not done so; it seems wierd to me how some spend all their time complaining but don't go and get the problem fixed :smileysurprised:.
