Hello,

I used Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0 . I installed new fw v22.009 to my E52 phone yesterday.

  I installed lastest version Nokia Ovi Map 3.01(*) . I opened compass from ovi map's settings and I circled phone look like old version fw (it worked compass with old version E52 fw v21 at Ovi Map). so I think my E52's magnetometer is not working with new E52 fw 22.009 

but also still working E52's gps, accelerometers...

I am also facing the same problem. The compass does not work after the update. I tried all the calibration stuff,still it does not work. I also did a hard reset but to no avail.

I have just upgraded to v22 and while the gps was very bad before, it does not work at all now.

How / where did you guys get the new firmware? I've checked on the support website and it states that my current version (v021.013) is the latest one.

I've tried using the Software Updater that came with PC Suite but it does not support my operating system ( Windows 7 32bit ).

Please also let me know if the new firmware had any POSITIVE effect on your devices. :-)

Hi,

I have flashed my E52 to version 22.009, and the Compass is working just fine.It took me about 10 seconds to calibrate and I had no problem using it.  I did it outside, but afterwards it worked from my car, no problem.

But it doesnt remember the setting. Is it supposed to do that?

I just ran the "Nokia Software Updater", and while my E52 was connected by USB cable (a requirement) it took about 5 -10 minutes to update to 22.009.

Just google for "Nokia software updater" it was first hit in my google, although I landed at the danish site, so I wouldnt paste that link here ....

Hi Rockey,

As an afterthought - I suggest you open up a new thread around your problem with updating firmware, instead of hijacking  this one where the subject is problems with the compass.  

There is a separate Software Update forum where you might find some help.

1 My software problem was in relation to the compass.

2 You are rather arrogant to accuse me of "hijacking " the thread.

Is it your personal thread or, are you trying to control it ?

I'm sorry if I came off as being arrogant, that was in no way intended. But you might have an issue that would be of help to others regarding your firmware problem, and it would be a shame to disuss that under a subject that has to do with the compass on this firmware version!  And you might have a bigger chance of getting your firmware update solved if you posted about it in the right group. 

It's all a matter of what pops up if you search for a solution on this site. Thats what "hijacking" a thread means.

Same problem here with Nokia 6210 Navigator. I updated the maps firmware to v3.01 09wkb01 and now the compass is not working any more.
Any idea on how to fix that problem?
