How do i select multiple sms from inbox or multiple files anywhere.
There is a pen button on N Series to do this job.I would like to know what is the alternative in Eseries.
I just cant go to every message and then Options->mark/unmark->mark. It is a pain.
The # button works for copy/paste but not for selecting multiple items.

Hi,
It would probably depend on what phone you have.
On my E61, I just go to any inbox and - without selecting any message yet - I hit >Options>>Mark>>Mark_all>. Of course, that´s only if you really want to mark all messages - otherwise, you´d have to mark the individual messages you want to delete or unmark the messages you want to keep, depending on what number is smaller...

Tried just with N78. Keep # pressed while moving up or down, this should set marker on the items.

"The # does not work on E52 to select multiple items"
My point is, for the sms that we want to mark do we have to do Options->Mark bcoz on the Nsereis we can just use pen button+select and it will be marked. That makes the job a whole lot easier.
Whereas here you have to go to the desired message or file and then Options->mark/unmark->mark, then go to next msg Options->mark/unmark->mark and repeat and repeat........ Just imagine if you had hundreds of files or sms to delete. People who had undergone this will understand the difficulty and headache it gives.
Atleast in gallery they have an option called mark multiple. That could have been implemented here also. Hope in the next firmware atleast they do something.
I just switched over from N73 to E52. Haven't any of the Eseries phone got a feature to do this. In the specifications of E52 on nokia site theyspecified "multiple SMS deletion. But i dint know it was implemented like this.

Somehow it does not work on my E52. I just cannot cannot find out the exact reason why.
Maybe itsnot supported in this region of handsets.
I got mine from singapore. It has some chinese or korean symbols on its keypad.
For a picture of it look at unboxing pics from plemix or attachment.
Any help regarding this matter would be appreciated.

My Nokia E52, Firmware 021.013.C00.01, Language 14.02
Valid for Tmage case, I also try to find out how to easily mark the sms/mms and delete just ones I wanted to.
I cannot use # same with Tmage. I don't know if Marsark have diff language?
Nokia please improve this. Since my previous phone SE K800 and N70 works well with it. Don't jump Eseries to the old age wave cellphone please.

For me it's working to press and hold # , and then to go down and up with cursor, and appears a green "select" icon in SMS which it's selected.
I can do this with my Nokia E52 firmware 021.013.C00.01 Language set 05.01

It looks like the ' # ' option has been left out in the language set 14.02
This version is meant for Asia-Pacific region like Singapore,HongKong,Indonesia, etc I think..
I dont know if this is a mistake(firmware) or in the other case,is NOKIA is differentiating Asian users from EU and US users.
Com'on Nokia dont all users want this functionality. Why this demarcation? Then why is this feature shown in the specifications of E52 on Asian sites?
I hope NOKIA reads this and enables it in the firmware update which i dont know when its goin to come.

Hi,
I mailed to Nokia(SG) regarding this ' # ' button to mark multiple items.
They replied that certain features are disabled in certain regions. So the APAC version definitely has this removed or not implemented. People buying these version need to note this.
Of all the features i dont know why they missed this. Its a real nuisance. Do some countries there really ask to remove such features? How funny Nokia?
I also asked whether it will be enabled in next firmware update, for which they told it all depends on the region the model is manufactured for.
Does this mean all people who bought this version will have to do without it?

Strange. Just # feature.
Do you think that Nok really want to make all APAC people have a little step behind those on Europe?
Nok, please release firmware update immediately..!!

I got my E52 from Malaysia. Impressed by the battery life.
I was moving from Sony Ericson to Nokia less than a month ago. I am already missing some useful function and Mark Multiple (this is case, not able to select multiple sms at once sound silly to me)
Nokia, please look into this. Someone please tell me it's worth to keep my E52.

How about using the Nokia's PC Suite to delete multiple SMSs on the phone? I hope that ought to work as a workaround. After several months of owning the phone now I have lots of junk SMS to delete...
If only Nokia apps engineer is listening, and bring it up to their firmware team located don't know where. And then only if their language pack firmware team is willing to fix the bug which should take less than 10sec to do.
