There seems to be some problems with the camera on my handset.
Photos:
The photos taken are all smudged like as if the objects are moving though everything was perfectly still. I too did not shake the phone while taking the pictures.
Videos:
There are 3 settings for video: mp4 for pc,mp4 for handheld,3gp for sharing.
The videos taken in first mode(best quality) always freezes in between randomly. The video is taken continuously but it stammers in between each 2 seconds for fraction of a second. While watching the taken video also same thing. I don't know if its because of inadequate processing power for that resolution.
The other two modes work fine.
Dedicated camera button:
This button is supposed to be illuminated by the backlight but in mine it does not. The other volume keys are illuminated.
Anyone else facing these problems or having any solutions please help me out.

II ran into similar problem with first few photos... have you removed the protective sticker on the camera? The sticker is pretty small so it's not obvious.
Not just E52, even the XM5xxx has similar sticker.

Yes i have removed the protective cover. Even if the cover was present, it could be a reason for the bad photos but the videos are also choppy.

Its written as SD-C01G JAPAN.
If its a memory card problem it should work fine when using phone memory right?
I ll check that and post back.

@sockatume
Thanks for the info. The stuttering occurs only when video settings are set to high and stored on memory card.
So its a problem with memory card only.I havent tried a different card yet.
When stored to phone memory it works fine.
This is a big let down as videofile sizes get big in mp4. 6Mb for 35secs.
But still i cant confirm if the illumination missing on my camera button is a manufacturing defect.
Other users of E52 pls check and let me know.

Just as an explaination, the memory card class determines how quickly it can record data. If you're using a high quality of recording, then the phone might try to write data to the memory card faster than it can keep up, so it stops recording while it dumps off the "excess video" and that's what the stuttering is. The internal memory is very fast, so that's why you don't have an issue.
I don't have any problems with QVGA MP4 videos at high quality on my N79 with a Class 4 SDHC card, so it might be worth finding one of those.

Just tried the video just now with a short video (~14sec) and transfer over at highest quality. Didn't notice jerking or skipping.
Tried several flash shots (dark background, lite background, silver/aluminium surface object) just now. Everything turn out very pleasant... except I place the object too close. The color repro in flash and non-flash occassions have been excellent for the business phone.

I just bought an E52 and when i use the camera, the picture on screen is fuzzy and not sharp. Any photos or videos that i take are all blurry too. A friend of mine also has an E52 and his camera is a lot better so i know mine has a problem
I tried the solution above around the memory card but it did not fix the issue. I have tried playing around with the sharpness setting etc, but this has not worked either. Any ideas what could fix the issue? To me it seems like it is an actual lens problem itself, but just checking if any could help before i look to get it fixed?

I too am not happy with E52 camera ( 2 weeks old). Have tried different settings etc, but very dissapointed.Took 3 Pictures of same subject in "landscape", portrait and Automatic modes. I tried to get a wide depth of field scale in the picture, by having a hald open door in the foreground and pointing the camera into the corner of the room to give me a wall to the left and another to the right. Cannot see any difference between them and they are all poor quality. yes, I did clean fingerprint off the lense! All my old Nokias were much better. Here in S.Africa, sending the phone in for an evaluation / repair means being with out a phone for ages. Maybe time to change to HTC? At least they are Windows Mobile-another bonus.

About the camera button. Mine is lighting only when it's dark and the camera is on. Otherwise - it's not lighting.

You are genious!!! I just replaced a memory card... The one that came with Nokia E52 I took out the phone, and added a new one I bought at the store. The video recording works perfectly at the HIGH quality and it doesnt freeze anymore...
I was so annoyed today, as I baught the phone few days ago, tested video rec at HIGH Q and after few seconds it starts freezing. Its a bad Memory card, you gotta get a new one!!!
