E51 keyboard problem

Hi!

I have a very serious problem, as my 9-month old E51 mobile phone doesn't respond to any of the keyboard keys. I can press any of them, but nothing happens (except the turn on-off at the top). Has anybody experienced this or know why can it be? I didn't drop, hit it nor made any contact with water.

 

Ps: my brother has almost the same problem, but in his case only a few keys don't work. He gave in for repair (official service) but they couldn't do anything with it for a month now... And I would need my phone as soon as possible. :smileyfrustrated:

Hi My E51 is 1,5 years old, and i have exactly the same problem. Does anyone have a solution?

 i had the same problem with one of my phone.i just did a clean service - under the key pad and replace the touch pad - and every thing went right.

Having exactly the same problem over here. Several year old E51 keyboard doesn't respond suddenly nothing special has happend. No drop no water no moist .... ??

Have quit some sms messages that i would like to keep (in the dreaded 'My Folders')

I have already made a complete backup with PC-Suite and there seem to be some symbian apps that can backup these sms but since none of the keys are working i cannot install anything :smileysad:

Strangest is that everything else seems to work ok, even lighting on keyboard UI is working ok, display is working fine it will connect to PC Suite.

I know the keypad and beyboard UI is ok, as i have a spare here, keyboard UI connector is clean and ok. So this must be mainboard failure??

Anything I can try  ???

Even flashing is not an option as NSu needs SIM card installed and I can't switch from offline to online without key input :smileysad:

Luckily I have been able to create a full backup using PC Suite and used the open source NBU explorer program to retrieve my messages in 'My Folder ' :smileyhappy:

Just to let you all know. Very strange .... put the phone back together last night and this morning as i powered it up, all was ok again. 

Have tried at least 15 times yesterday and as for now all is ok again ???
