My E71 connects to Paket Date all the time.
I purposly close it by pressing "red button" but after disconnection I can see my Nokia again dials 3G data connection to the network.
When I check running apps - only home screen. Then why my E71 always tries to connect to Internet?
Is there some settings about it?
Or how to check which app requests the connection?
I check connection manager: few kBs downloaded... I am strugglin with it for about a month.

Go to Settings > connection(in my M73me) or connectivity >packet data > packet data conn > change it to "When needed"
This makes ur Packet data connection to go off completely and establishes connection only if u want to do so
check out....

Thanks, I tried it already:
Packet data connection:When needed
Access Point: None
High Speed packet access: Enabled
Now I am looking to this menu item on my device and see symbol which shows E71 is online with packet data access (on the right top courner).

hi,
do you have one of the following apps installed:
06-Aug-2009 06:06 PM
Something you installed or set-up (Email, Messaging) or some application is activating the data link.
Do you have any applications running?
Long press the Menu key to see the applications that are open.then close them
Go to Tools->Settings->Connections->Packet Data then change the option "Packet data connection" to When needed as opposed to "When available"
If i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

Hey all, thanks for comments.
It appeard thatI have installed application called Lotus Notes Traveler which allows reading and syncing mail with Lotus/Domino. This app is not shown when u check running programms (long press of home button in E71) but it keeps data link up all the time. Although it is taking much traffic but it drains battery.
I switched sync off and found that my E71 is no longer building connection by itlself. So I believe it is the root cause.
