Calendar Entries

I am a new owner of an E63. If I make a lengthy entry to the calendar when I have entered more than 30 characters I can no longer see what I am typing. This is rather unnerving as I can't tell if I have made any mistakes until I press ‘Done'. Am I doing something wrong or have I got a wrong setting, or should I just keep calendar entries to less than 30 characters?

Thanks for any help

Re: Calendar Entries

The following is what I entered as the subject of a meeting entry, without "[]". I used any type of build-in font. I experienced no problem while writing the entry. [Try making long subject of the meeting entry to see if all the words can fit in the subject-field editor by using any type of build-in font of Nokia E63 and see how many lines of subject the editor can display and check if there is any issue 1234567890 12] Thanks.

Re: Calendar Entries

I read your answer, thank you, but I realised that I had not identified my problem correctly. I now realise that when you type in the subject or details your typing appears in a box. For me this was invisible, and the reason I now have learnt was that I have a Virgin setup and the phone was set (not by me) on a ‘theme’ that resulted in the font and background being the same so that although I was typing successfully I couldn’t see anything. If I put my E63 on theme ‘Nokia E63v2’ I can reproduce this problem. I was misled because when you type the subject the typing appears in 2 places, although I could only see it in the top position! (If this last sentence is puzzling ignore it!) The important thing that may help other new owners is that it is possible to be typing ‘invisible’ writing if you have the wrong theme.

Re: Calendar Entries

Based on what you wrote, the theme designer must 'fix' the theme. Nokia, via the manual for theme design, strongly suggests that 'contrast' should be maintained. E.g white text on very light-coloured background should be avoided. Unfortunately, Nokia also provides themes, WhiteBusiness and WhitePersonal , with not contrast for the text-field editing of calendar Subject. If you find this issue again, just push button 'Ctrl' then button 'A' to select the text in editing mode. Usually, the theme has different colour combination for text selection.
