It seems the lock code is needed when switching to offline profile when you have both 'lock if SIM changed' and 'remote SMS locking' enabled. If I have set only one of these then it will not ask for the lock code after going offline.

Almdriver....what excatly are the problems you are crying about? Nokia Software Updater works FINE through VISTA and when your handset is asking which connection you can press "cancel" since the software will find it automatically. Now, your 022.003 is probably the most updated firmware for your phone based on your region. I updated mine last night and all the fixes mentioned on 023.XXX seemed to have arrived in my handset.

I cannot respond to a SMS message when using Best Full Screen Message from the app. (might be a Best FSM problem though)

Only north up when Nokia Maps open

OVI maps loses the entered route when I close the app, need te reprogram every time.

Dialing a telephone number while navigating is not convenient. Address book button does not respond.

SOLVED after hard reset

Navigation screen in Nokia Maps does not re-popup after dialing a contact (you have to press home and select maps to do so).

Difficult to find a location in Nokia Maps, searching on one line is not handy. Cannot find smaller streets in "search" causing difficulty in planning routes. Tomtom does that job easily (while using the old version 6) Europe wide btw....

Zoom in zoom out buttons (screen/keyboard) reversed on Nokia Maps.

In Nokia Maps BT connection is activated despite the fact I loweren the sound to "zero" (no sound)

Would be happy if anyone could comment on these issues.... Thanks....

The two most common issues are:

1. The lag that appears while dialing any number...very annoying that cant be there from a big old phone company like Nokia.!!

2- The combinations of characters like A-H fast gives Aaaaaaaaa...while H-A...gives HAHAHA...silly bug!!

In MENU, it keeps on showing that white/green "application running-sign" next to Applications. When in APPLICATIONS, it shows the same sign next to LOG. This happens all the time!

EVEN when i have already logged off a misscall etc notification from the stand-by-screen.

Had this with the 1st firmware 21.xxxxx and STILL have it with 22.xxxx which is equivalent to 23.xxxxx in some part of the world i believe. Really annoying!

Hello all, In this new firmware 023.002, the calculator program, I can NOT enter any numbers using the keyboard?!!!! Only the operations are working but all keys are not typing anything.

Keys are working great in any other application or elsewhere in the phone.

Please advise back.

If -any- application is open and within "applications" you will see the icon you mention.
Check if you have running apps by press and hold the home key. close them and see is the icon is still showing.

If you startup the calc app and you cannot enter numbers is strange, works perfect here.

If you open a text document, are you able to enter a number? (after pressing the lower right key once?)

Yea, I found his to be the same with Traditiona Chinese as default input mode eventhough I have the phone language in English. It is a pain to say the least.

The E72's Encryption feature appears to be useless, or at least, flawed.

Using Voyager Home Screen (vHome) manager, you can still open apps, navigate folders, etc even when the phone is locked (after 20 minutes, with RAM+Card encryption).

As an example, if I leave my phone alone and return after 4h (or lose it) all data can be accessed even without knowing the lock code. vHome might be causing this I guess, but only because the implementation on the OS is probably flawed.

I'm thinking about turning off encryption as it does not me feel safe anymore and decreases performance.

It's an issue with the lock, not the encryption. Encryption sets up your memory card so it'll only ever work on your phone. The lock should then stop anyone using your phone when it's locked.

What happens when you lock the phone? Does it prompt for the lock code when you try to use it again? Does it just act as though it was never locked?

Sounds more like a security hole in Voyager Home Screen that's getting around the lock. The encryption isn't the cause. Its job is just to encrypt the data. The phone security provides the lock, which is present whether you have encryption turned on or not.

If this app is doing something very hacky to replace the home screen (which is what implements the lock I guess) then no wonder the lock can be bypassed. Even if you turn off encryption, you'll still have the lock code issue. Installing 3rd party apps is a big security risk.

Though encryption causes various problems anyway and you can risk losing your data if you don't backup the key, or decrypt the device before a firmware update.

I use the same code version and have a fix within a reasonable time....

Let me be clear that I am from Pakistan and I couldn't find my country in the drop down list.I have bought Nokia E72 and there are some weird things going on.

2. When I press the Silent shortcut key it gets to the silent mode but quickly toggles back to general profile.

Now I know how these things work as I am a computer systems engineer.

I have done all the basic troubleshooting like updating the firmware, hard resetting the phone, changing the operator.

3. I tried to configure IMAP email on Nokia Messaging but even after selecting the options ALL in "number of email messages from inbox" I hardly get emails of 2 to 3 days which are not more than 300 to 400. 

So sad that I couldn't find any responsible person to answer my queries and rectify them. I used to be a die hard fan of Nokia always. I made quite haste in buying this product (Nokia E72) but it has disappointed me a lot since there is no light and there are no updates how and when all these issues will get resolved.

Waiting for a decent and certain answer/response from Nokia Care Team.

there is lag when i dial a series of number in a really quick manner or hitting a number twice consecutively and quickly...
it's very annoying .. i hope da next firmware will fix this..
can't believe nokia was unable to fix this basic function in the last firmware.
