Hey, I have a North American E71-2 with the latest firmware (200.21.118). I have installed various apps on the phone, and I set gmail to be my long key shortcut for email. I've had the phone for about a week. At some point (can't say when) the long press contact (should be new contact) started giving me errors. When I would press it, it says "Item no longer available. Restoring Default Key settings." and then goes to the normal contacts screen (no new contact). It doesn't always do this, sometimes it works. Sometimes it works many times in a row; it almost never fails twice in a row (maybe never). But I've had situations where I just sat in the home screen, no other apps open, I would press the button, exit, press the button, exit, etc and it would just work sometimes and othertimes not. The closest I can come to triggering the bug consistently is to run Gmail, and then run this, however even after I unmapped gmail it still happens. I have played around with various shortcut settings and this only happens with that key, set to that shortcut. If I change what long press contacts leads to, I never get a problem. If I assign a different key to new contact, I never get a problem.
My work around for now is just to switch the long and short press (yes, its ridiculous but it works perfectly). But this is really annoying me.
Any help? I've seen some sporadic reports of this happening to others on the web (including with another model phone, the E65) but no systematic address of this problem.
