I dont remember a "Sync" function in Blackberry Connect. BB has a "wireless reconcile" option and when pressed, will display "Request sent" and not "sync completed."
You have installed BB but you might be using Nokia's native sync application.

BBC WORKING on E51.
Here's what I did.
1. First step. Before doing anything else, before installing BBC on your phone, before going to any website, before configuring anything, do this. Call your Cellphone Company and Subscribe to Blackberry Service. Ther is NO workaround for this. The emails don't flow if your provider hasn't provided the service. Omitting this step guarantees failure. Do not believe anyone who tells you otherwise. Clear?
2. I updated my phone software to the latest (in my case v3.xx.xx). (See your version number by keying *#0000# on your phone.
3. I downloaded the E90 BBC for an E90 with phone software version 3.xx.xx. If my phone had a version number 2.xx.xx I would have downloaded BBC for E90 with software v2.xx.xx. I did not heed the oft-repeated advice that the "only" BBC I should use is the 7.25.19 or whatever. I followed my own dream ![]()
4. I installed the BBC on my phone and said "Yes" to turn on the service, "No" to activate a corporate account. I immediately got a message!!!! So exciting!!!! Don't be fooled, it's internally generated by the installation. Doesn't mean you're receiving messages. Yet.
5.Go into the Menu of your phone. This is the folder containing icons for "Tools", "Media", etc. There is a new icon for Blackberry. Open that folder and click on the Settings icon.
6. There are 5 tabs in this application. In the 1st tab, set Blackberry Service "On" then click "Options" and choose "Register Now". Follow the prompts.
You'll get a message later with a link you can visit in your phone's browser. You can do this browser session over WiFi if you like, or over the phone network. You'll be visiting blackberry's website to configure your email account. For common domains, RIM knows how to get to your server, what ports to use and all that. If you're doing a Corporate Email account from your workplace you probably already know these instructions don't apply to you. If you use a little-known email provider, the setup process will lead you through extra steps to get the server names and other info.
After the entire setup, you'll have to wait a while, maybe a couple hours.
During the wait, make sure someone is sending non-spam emails to your account regularly. BB will start pushing your mail faster if it sees "New" messages in your inbox.
I hope this message is helpful. I was thrilled when the latest version of the software worked with the latest version of the phone. I hope it works for you all.
Cheers

I am writing from India, Bengaluru. I am using Airtel Postpaid and activated the 299 plan of BIS. My phone's firmware I got to know by dialling *#0000# was 220.34.37. I tried installing the BB Connect software on my E51 just by reading the various posts on this thread. My success came when i dowloaded the latest BB connect software for E90 from http://businesssoftware.nokia.com/blackberry_downl
P.S. I told the Airtel guys I was using E51 and informed them about reading this post, they read it too and they helped me configure my airtel mobile taking it as a challenge on themselves(i guess!) it took me 6 ppl and 45 mins to get this done.. ![]()
anyway... for ppl who are thinking.. will i be able to install BB on E51... THE ANSWER IS A BIG YESSSSSS!

Verdict: BB still works on E51 (I am in India and on Airtel)
After reading the several posts and spending a good amount of time with my service provider on the phone, I hope this post will help you get it done easier than me.
How to get there?
Step 1: Get the BB service enabled by your mobile service provider for your number. They may say it won't work (they told me atleast). Get it activated anyway. Wait for 6 hours. Call back your service provider and verify that the BB service is active.
Step 2: Download the software from here (attachment to this post). You can also download all the 3 versions from here - http://www.mediafire.com/?80j2esg1gjb8pws. The latest one worked for me. I suggest you try the same.
Step 3: Install the software on your phone. Do NOT do the enterprise account activation (unless you have been told to specifically). A BlackBerry folder is created in the menu. Mine was created in the root folder itself. The BB symbol with the cross mark should be shown.
Step 4: Go to Settings in the BlackBerry folder and press options. Press Register Now. If the installation is correct and the service is activated, the last tab (device-info) should now have the PIN displayed and the cross mark on the BB symbol should go away.
Step 5: Go to your online BB account and sign in (you will be automatically given one by your service provider). You can call your service provider and seek assistance. Add your email accounts here. You should see a new mailbox created automatically for every email address you enter. This should happen instantaneously.
Your BB service should now be up & running! Wait for an hour before mails start coming in.
Additional steps (incase you face a hitch):
1. Change the network discovery to manual (the default setting is automatic)
2. Remove the battery/sim card and restart your phone
3. Upgrade your phone software to the latest version
P.S. If this worked, share it with your service provider! ![]()
