Application icons gone after restoring contents from backup!

Hi,

 

Yesterday, I decided to upgrade my E71 to the latest firmware version (210.21.006). As usual, took a full backup of my phone contents, upgraded to the latest firmware, and then restored back the contents. However, after restoration, I've noticed that some of my applications in the installations folder are gone! Interestingly, I can see these applications' folders and files are still there in my phone, but the icons are missing and there's also no sign of them in the "App. mgr." Can anyone help me to restore my applications without "reinstalling" them?

You need to reinstall. Some (most) application developers have not enabled for backup/restore to work with their apps (it is not enabled by default on Symbian/S60, but developers must allow it specifically, and then do it the right way, too).

Thanks. I guess Nokia should put this warning before starting Backup/Restore.
