Hi

 

I am using E63, and I got all 3G settings from my service provider, If My network option is in Dual Modie the data connection is as edge, if I change it to UMTS, just I am getting 3G label but there is no data transfer and even there is no coverage at all. Could you please guide me how to proceed...

There are 3 versions of the E63. Make sure you have the model that supports 3G (WCDMA) in your area.

 

  • E63-1 Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 900/2100
  • E63-2 Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/1900
  • E63-3 Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 850/2100
E71-2 Grey Steel

I have a Nokia E63-2 and am based in Malawi, Africa. I cannot use 3G. Is it because our service provider is on UMTS 2100 frequency? if so how do i go about modifying the frequency to enable me use the 3G services. Please Help. am desperate as i cannot change the device.

Supported frequencies on phones cannot be changed because they are hardware dependent.
