Hi
After 1.5 years.... I'm still not able to hook up my phone via USB to my Windows 7 64 bit Laptop. Been through many many versions of Ovi then Nokia Suite.... Its just not working...
So now I can't get the Belle update....
Anyone else facing this problem? Initally I thought it was because of USB 3.0, but I have a USB 2.0 port.... In the old days the Laptop couldn't detect the phone via USB... Now it detects and thinks its in wrong mode...
This sucks! I know Nokia is not planning to support Symbian but If they had paid attention to Symbian issues over the last 3 years, they wouldn't have had to switch to M$ in the first place....
Symbian is easily the 'lightest' Mobile OS around and I think Nokia should have paid attention that that fact and developed around that....
Anyways Any fixes for my issue?B.T.W I faced same issue with Anna, luckily I think that worked as a OTA update.
Thanks

there should be no problem connecting your phone (which model?) to Win 7 64bit laptop.
I'm running Nokia Suite 3.3.86 on my win 7 64bit laptop without any connectivity problems via USB.
Have you verified that your phone can connect to some other laptops via USB? To eliminate possibility of hardware problem in your phone?

Hi
I have connected to other Laptops - My mother's Netbook which we bought last year runs, Windows 7 Home Basic, and my bother's runs Windows 7 Home Basic. Both are not 64 bit installs and both dont have USB 3.0
I'm able to transfer stuff to the phone directly via Windows 7 (like movies, documents, music etc)
The issue happens only with Nokia Suite. It might be some privacy setting or something - I tried changing registry settings and stuff like that to change the mode the Device is detected in but nothing helped. Nokia Suite thinks the phone is in Mass storage mode, the Phone shows Ovi Suite mode.
Its been like this right from the time i bought it. I've spoken with many folks from Nokia about this, but no solutions.
Its possible that the native Windows 7 support is interfering with the behavior? I dont know - The phone installs some stuff, and I can see a window with the network status, and other info. But if I open Nokia Suite, it can't see the phone in the right mode. Initially bluetooth also didn't work but the recent Suite versions fixed that side of the problem.
Thanks

Just want to add - the usual message from Nokia was to use PC cleaner and clean out the install - I did all that, i cleaned out the USB plugin history also, cleaned the registry, and then started from scratch, downladed and installed nokia suite, and then connected the phone....
Didn't help.
Mine is a corporate laptop so there might be some file restrictions, but some clue's might have helped.... I haven't received any good help yet from Nokia.
Anyways looks like Belle on C7 has a lot of issues... maybe i'll hold out for now.
Thanks

Agreed! Corporate Laptop usually have restriction on using software not provided by your IT department and limitation on use of USB port. You should consider using your personal computer with Nokia suite.
BTW, consider carefully before you upgrade to Belle. Some applications will no longer work after upgrade. Check messages here before you start.

Hi
I wasn't thinking about the Corporate Laptop issue because - As I said earlier, I can transfer data via usb, outside of PC Suite. The software has a filter to block access to my Outlook files but I cant work around that.
Also my old corporate laptop which I used with the older N82, worked fine - It ran Windows XP.
My friend has a Nokia N900 and he doesn't face connectivity issues on his laptop (same model)
Anyways this might be some wierd 1 off case. I'll probably update in a couple weeks time, when I get my brother's laptop.I think skype and some other apps might be ported by that time....
Thanks
