Frankly, I am disappointed with Belle update. Some very good features for Symbian are changed. You can click on upper right corner to control many items in Symbian Anne like check message, battery mode, connection.
The clock can be either a big digital one or analog one only. Not as convenience as the previous one that you can launch calendar and change mode easily with same widget.
I always listen to music and radio. Previous it need one widget and 2 shortcut to control both. Now you need 2 big widgets.
The startup screen is become 4 but actually less convenience that Symbian Anna.
Only feature I like is you can turn on/off data connection and wifi easily.
The problem of update is some application will be disappear. Anyone not need a urgent update should hold on and wait for more comments from other users first!!!
Please kindly correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks

Thanks! I find that too when I review the manual in the lunch time. However, it's still less convenience that Symbain anna. the slient mode button should have other option too. The drop down bar is a good idea but more common feature should be included.

the drop downbox is less convenience that original click on the corner feature. I don't know why it changed. The contract is not complete, for example, mode change can on or off "silent" but you can't select other like "offline".

Agreed that Belle comes with a few changes that does not suit all of us...
I also am missing the corner click for battery...
When you open 'Messaging' the conversation folder opens and you need to view other folders from options...
But again, I like the freedom of placing my widgets anywhere on screen...
Dragging them to the next homescreen (as currenct one is full already
)
Uninstalling an app dirctly from menu...
Transparent music player song list and bigger album art...
Menu open with a touch from homescreen...
What say you? ![]()
I think it's great that Nokia released Belle for older handsets like N8 and all...I have a C6-01 and was in dilemma wheather go for an Android of 14K range...maybe HTC WF S/Samsung Ace...I would have stuck to Andro 2.3 forever then...
Despite the time consumed and incomplete release, thanks to Nokia for finally providing a fresh UI...

Nokia still provides update to their old smartphones is appreciated. That's still one of the reasons I haven't change to another brand yet. But user experience is an issue Nokia must improve. Some features in Belle especially the changes in widgets is a downgrade from Symbian Anna.
Hopefully, better widgets update can be released soon. I believe nokia is still selling much more Symbian phone than Windows Phone now. If they give up symbian, most likely user will get iPhone and Android rather than Lumia.

Not official means bro...!!!
But thankfully one can downgrade to Symbian Anna by means of flashing and I just tried in my N8 which is out of warranty anyways...
And to my relief it worked...!!!
Update: Restored my N8 to Nokia Belle itself...!!! Cheers...![]()
