Can anyone help me Please!!

I have had my C3-00 since last November, and it has been fine, I have used it to access FREE WIFI in other European countries as well as the UK without being charged . That was untill 3 months ago when I started getting charged for accessing FREE WIFI in the UK and in Europe, I have had the phone reset by Nokia and by a Nokia shop without any luck, It is set to always ask when it conects to the internet but it never asks!

Should I bin the phone and get a new one or will Nokia sort the problem?

I am on V 07.20 but when I try to download the newer version it tells me I have the correct  version

So can anyone help me, it costs me more than the phone costs to acces internet on the move

you've not been using wifi. 

Wifi is always free unless you sign up to a paid service like BT Openzone (when your not a customer) but they ask for payment by card or premium rate SMS 

Check your settings. as something is not right here (and binning will not help)

It connects via WLAN andthen goes to internet without asking even though I have it set to 'ASK FIRST' Nokia have re set the phone but it still happens, if mydaughter uses her sim in my phone she gets charged if I use my sim in her phone I dont get charged

Hi,

Please try the settings below i sent:

Select Menu > Settings and Configuration > Preferred access point — View the saved access points and choose the preferred WLAN access point.

Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > WLAN > Internet Connection :Ask first
you are asked for the connection method every time you open an application that requires an Internet connection such as Browser or Mail.

Select Menu > Settings > Configuration  > Personal settings >

Add > Web > account name "My Web" and use preferred access point "yes"

After this setting become active, phone shoul not go to the operator web connection which charges.

Well the easiest way to fix this is to delete the mobile access points from the destinations index in the settings menu if you dont use them.

Thank you for your reply I have been through all what you told me with Nokia with no joy, It does not ask me, it just connects even though it shows the WiFi logo. Been told it is rare and nokia should 'Flash' it and reset it.

Im having a lot of bother getting used to these phones but I cant see how you are being charged for using wifi. Ive been playing about with my C3-01 WITHOUT a SIM in it for the last 2 weeks & Ive been connecting to the internet NP using wifi. I cant possibly be on a charged rate without a sim so if you are only using wifi neither can you! You must have your setting wrong!

Did you delete the access point? If there is no mobile network access point on your phone, you cant possibly be charged.
