Hi all nokia fans and sufferers ... Recently it has been brought to my attention that all the phones with sliders and clamshells have a belt installed behind the display to convey the information. I have been told that the high end models of nokia have a good quality belt installed in them which will last longer but the ones which are cheaper and cost less have a average sort of belt installed in them.... And as now all the phones are becoming touch with constant sliding the belt is prone to damage and if damaged then the phone will be technically useless.... My request to nokia tech's looking over the forums please look into this matter. Thanks and give me advice whether I should think about getting a touch and touch slider or candy bar version????

I have not seen any broken slide complaints for these models int he forums. So where did you get that info ?

Well every slider phone will certainly have a ribbon so the life is limited as compare to straight phones. so before going for procurement of any slide phone this thing should be kept in mind. But this phone (Nokia C2-03) I would suggest never buy. It has basic functions missing those are available in any budget phone less than Rs 2500/- in market. It is very very uncomfortable to use. details are in "Nokia C2-03 lacking some basic options" chapter in this site.
I think a firmware/ software update is barely required to be provided by Nokia, otherwise this phone is not at all useful.
