hi friends

i have bought a nokia 6070 handset and i got a usb cable (CA-42 ) with it . the p suite version which was supplied with the cable was pc suite 6.80 but when i try to connect my phone using nokia pc suite it says that no modems are installed. even when i try to install the modem drivers separately and then add a new modem via control panel i see a list of nokia phones but phone's model no. doesn't appear there what should i do??

I would uninstall what you have and then install the latest PC Suite from the website

i have tried that after instaliing nokia pc suite 6.81 released sometime in august. i don't know that why that doesn't provide drivers for my phone . the site mentioned that the pc suite had integrated drivers biut i didn't find one for my phone. in fact drivers are present for lots of other phones like 6020 and then the next entry in the list is of nokia 6100. no phones in between. what should be done??? any guesses!!!!

I got 6070

then purchased, CA - 42 Cable.

Intalled latest suit.

I can communicate between Laptop and fone, can see my messages, contacts.

But for browsing Internet Modem not getting installed.

i facewd same problem as u r facing. but then after
i tried several techniques &got solution to this problem

if u have any difficulty in connection using CA 42 cable
then u can ask me
&if u are intrested then we can make a common platform
for all nokia 6070 problems by making a community on orkut.

so give me a reply.

hi friends,

its simple to solve the "using nokia 6070 as modem" issue
install the modem driver in control panel>phone and modem options>"modems" tab> add modem> no i will select the modem from the list... u dont find nokia 6070 in the list, but i found two 3200 drivers listed. i tried installing one, the last one... and voila, the 6070 connects to the internet. u need the pc suite to connect though... when you click connect to the internet, the modem listed is 3200 but u should be able to connect through the 6070 anyway.

Hi,
My Phone is Nokia 6070.I have purchased CA-42 cable and
downloaded PC suit 6.84 from the website. I have successfully installed CA-42 and am able to transfer the data from PC to 6070 and viceversa. Now I wish to access Internet with my 6070. CA-42 serial cable has taken COM4 Port and is visible in the Ports of 'Device Manager'. In 'Phone and Modems' option of 'Control Panel'when I try to add 6070 as modem in COM4, though diferrent models of Nokia are diplayed, 6070 model is not displayed. All the Phone models displayed the list are of Bluetooth support only. Also COM4 is not displayed in 'Phone & Modems'options so as to install any other models drivers displaed in the list. To use drivers of any other models listed, 6070 does not support Blue tooth. Please help to find the modem drivers which supports 6070 through ca-42 cable at the earliest. Please suggest any other alternate solution to utilise my 6070 as modem to my PC.
Hoping any early reply from any successful users of internet through 6070 as modem.

I do not think you get a CA-42 in the sales package ?

Anyways, have you now 6.85.14.1 PC Suite or (the very old) 6.8 installed ?

I Don't know if will work for you guys, but here I detected a COM port conflict with my Bluetooth virtual COM port.

Connect your phone in the CA-42 go to Control Panel > Telephone & Modems Opitions > Modems > Nokia CA-42 GSM USB Modem - click on properties > advanced - Advanced configs - change COM port to a free one. Just this and will work like magic

Dear Friends,

I got CA-42 Data cable and the cd but when i connect i get two options after connection the data cable as setting ca-42 one is 28.exe & then 29.exe . Message displays as "choose the software as applicable " then when i connect it doest connect to my 6070 also would like to tell first time it is connected but later it is not showing any result.


Second problem is that with the pc suite 5.6 modem option did not come?
I think so it should be there, otherwise how the person who dont have the net could download this on computer from nokia site?
