Hi all, help required please- and apologies if this has been covered before!
My 5800 has recently started connecting to WLAN networks without my say so. As soon as I disconnect, it just goes straight back in- even sometimes it shows 'connecting' while the last session is still closing down! I have had to delete all my internet access points, even the one for my home network, so that it doesn't log on. Even when I switch my phone on, it asks to connect to WLAN straight away.
I didn't notice it was foing this at first, but after seeing the battery life drop dramatically, I realised that this is what was happening. May be coincidence, but it only seems to have happened after the last firmware update (50.50.005 in this case). It's also not an old phone, I only bought it in February, so I wouldn't expect any reliability problems by now...
Any ideas on how to prevent this, folks? It's driving me nuts!
Many thanks, Matt

Did you set apps like Nokia Messaging to always ask before connecting? Change their accesspoint settings.

I'll give that a try, thanks ![]()

Problem still occurring, I'm afraid. I have removed all the apps/themes etc that I have downloaded since buying the phone, and keptonly the default ones that came with the phone, yet the continuous WLAN connection issue (see my original email) is still happening. I have tried reinstalling the latest firmware update, but my OVI Suite now doesn't seem to be working properly either, so can't even do that!
Any ideas, anyone? Is this a known problem with the 5800, or am I simply missing something REALLY obvious? At the end of the day, a smartphone that you can't access the net with is pretty pointless... ![]()

It's advised to reset the 5800 after a firmware update. Dial *#7370# 12345 reformat, you'll lose all data. Make a backup first and restore without the settings.
