PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

Hi
I cannont drag(transfer files) onto the picture of the phone. I can do this when connected via USB. My phone is connected to PC suite via blutooth. I can view messages, etc on my pc. The Picture of the phone says "click here to connect phone" but my phone is connected via bluetooth. When i click GetConnected it says my phone ready to use.

I am using:
-Nokia PC Suite 6.85.12.0, English
-Microsoft Windows XP 32-bit Edition, Service Pack 2
-Toshiba (Version: 5.00.7522, Build: 0) (Bluetooth)

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

Try to download the generic PCSuite at Nokia, not the one specific for your phone. Use the file manager in PCSuites to transfer your pictures. The Toshiba blue tooth stack might have issues in the PCsuites your using.

Knowledge not shared is knowledge wasted!

If you find it helpfull, it's not hard to click the STAR..

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

Hi,

Update PC Suite to version 6.85.14.1 and if that didn't help update your Toshiba BT stack to version 5.10 (or newer).

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

My Nokia "speaks" Italian, and the Italian site required not the generic version, but the PC Suite especially for my E61i. Total disinstallation and reinstallation of PCSuite worked!
Mind you, I am used to reinstalling PC Suite regularly every time it stops working, so perhaps this is my fate.
Thank you for the Toshiba tip, since I had despaired of ever getting the bluetooth to work again. I'll let you know.

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

Arrgghh,
I bought a Bluetooth usb stick for my 2760, the seller said it was Nokia pc suite compatible, but when I try to connect it to pc suite, it says no bluetooth connection available, make sure all drivers & hardware are installed???
What gives? pulling hair out now, as I had another bluetooth dongle with similar problem and took it back for this "correct" one.

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

Hi,

Try to use MS BT, uninstall IVT BlueSoleil SW and restart PC -> if Microsoft support your BT hardware, it will install driver for it.

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

Tried to use MS to install the BT device, but no go, had to use Bluesoliel.

Is there a known list of MS compatable BT usb dongles anywhere? Getting tired of buying & having to return.

PS,
If the IVT stack is detected, then why wont it 'see' it when I open Nokia suite?

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

Well somehow I got it working, sort of.
Not quite sure what I did, but if I leave phone on, and boot pc, it detects the bluetooth connection and says LAN3 connected at 3Mb.And bluetooth symbol is in system tray.
I opened nokia Suite, and went into settings and told it to use the IVT connection, then tried to connect phone.
It then found phone! yippee!
It connected to phone, so I then went to try to backup my address book, but suddenly it then disconnects again?
Its not related to opening the software transfer, seems more a time issue? sort of disconnects after 10 seconds or something?

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

I have been having this same exasperating problem. I have a BlueSoleil usb dongle product version 2.6.0.1 release 070402 stck version 06.03.27.20061108. This was working fine until about a week ago - now it connects for about 10 seconds and indicates that it is synchronising - mostly none of the calender items or contacts, which I have recently added to the phone, get updated - about one connection in 20 it will update one item. I am having a love/hate relationship with my nokia 2760. I hope that you get an answer to your problem as I suspect our problems are the same.

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

Ah yotsman, you and me both!!
At least you managed to connect long enough to update a couple of times. We have the same phone as well.
Think I mighjt well go for a sony ericsson next time, there are no problems with their phones/software.

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

Yes , you are right there ! My sony ericsson PC suite connect perfectly and syncronises fine with my K850i via a Belkin bluetooth USB dongle but the nokia suite just says 'please install the correct hardware, drivers and software' which is rubbish .
Any suggestions to fix this would be much appreciated .

Re: PC Suite - Bluetooth Problem

Same problem with E61i. I reinstalled the Sitecom Toshiba bluetooth unit. Toshiba sees the Nokia, it connects, I can transfer files, but PC Suite doesn't see it. Hence, synchronisation is not possible. Tried finding an update to the bluetooth software (V3.03.26), but the software menus don't help. The Toshiba site has a version 5 "for Toshiba portables" and you have to sign a disclaimer with dire warnings. Don't dare go ahead. Isn't there anyone who understands these things?
