I have the very same problem too. I am disappointed in Nokia--no support whatsoever! Even to tell us that plans are underway to address our problems.

After the ANNA update, my 'Ask When Needed' function doesn't work correctly. It is clearly a programming error. However, the user can fix it until an update arrives.
Try these steps after the ANNA upgrade - it worked on my N8:
1. Open your internet browser
2. When the error message appears, click the shortcut icon in the bottom right corner (like you would access your bookmarks/shortcuts for internet)
3. Choose Settings
4. The first listing should be 'Access Point'
5. If your setting is 'Ask When Needed' CHANGE IT to 'Internet' or 'WAP services'
6. Click Back twice and then close your browser
7. Open your Internet browser and any of the access points you've defined in either Internet or WAP services should automatically connect.
To see the list of automatic connections, and change priority:
1. Hit the Menu Key (bottom left corner of the N8 face)
2. Settings
3. Connectivty
4. Settings
5. Destinations - Here is where you can define your connections and change priority.

@ mara87,
Sorry to hear about your issues with the Anna. Make sure you have updated all parts of the Anna update. Take a look at this troubleshooting. If you have installed all available updates, try to reinstall the software with Nokia Suite > Software update > Reinstall.
If that doesn't do the trick, take the device to your local Nokia Care point. Hope you get it to work properly!

This isn't a solution.
The problem is with the update as reported by countless people on here.
Bluetooth with Windows 7 is now broken and with many in-car systems too.
The problem should be investigated and a proper solution found.
Hopefully, Belle with not contain the same bug !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately here on the forum we can't make any further suggestions if you have carried out a three button depressed power on "hard reset" without restoring anything and it won't set up as a new device should, as there is little alternative but for device firmware to be re-flashed upon your N8.

thanks for your help guys, i made some progress tonight
key word being, some... now i have 025.007 version of anna and i can go online... but only through my browser... ovi store, social and communicator can't connect, no split-screen, and still no destinations in my connectivity settings...
and another thing, i did restore after hard reset, maybe that was the problem... but, i'll let it be for the time being... never flashed my phone before and i think i shouldn't mess with my n8... yet ![]()
edit: i forgot to mention, i couldn't complete upgrade on nokia suite, again... so i had to use nokia sw updater... error 12017, or something similar... what's up with nokia suite ![]()

I have just purchased a brand new nokia E6-00 few days back and i am facing lot of problem with WLAN connectivity. In my case, GPRS is working fine but WLAN connection drops after 2-3 minutes of connecting. And even if it is connected, most of the times i can't run internet successfully. I have Symbian Anna 022.014 in my phone and after reading other posts in this discussion, it's almost a certainity that this problem is not device specific, it is with symbian anna update. There's some serious issue with anna. On one hand, nokia is trying to send waves of excitement in smartphone market in the name of Symbian Anna, and on the other hand, they don't even care to take optimal test runs of this platform. Was this problem there in preceeding Symbian version? Please reply soon.

Turn off the power saving in the WLAN settings.

fwiw im in Canada & i update to 25.007 2weeks ago via ovi suite. long story short, update went well but i lost 3g wap & wifi as most of the posters here described. multiple googling & reinstall update was to no avail & so i lived with a crippled N8 till i finally decided to risk it all to solve this.
i flashed my N8 via ****to the latest 25.008 & after some nailbiting moments.....voila i have a working N8 back to all its previous splendor. yes i lost some apps & my custom profile & config but the 3g wap & wifi + all other functions works. plus after checking software update, i did the anna 1+2 & service pack update as well via ota.
guys i think this is the only way to solve this issue other than wait for nokia's belle update via ovi suite as theres no way we can update via ota with the wifi/wap crippled. hope this helps
MODERATOR'S NOTE:We have edited your post on the subject because you discuss Nemesis/NSS, the use of which is unauthorised and can invalidate the warranty of a Nokia device, so we do not allow it to be discussed in an official Nokia forum.

It beggers belief that there has been no solution to Bluetooth connectivity problems since Anna update.
At least Nokia could confirm they know about the problem and it will be solved by Belle !!!!!

well, i guess they did... after belle update, i again have a beautiful new phone with all the functions available, all programs running and everything as new... Thanks nokia, not for helping
but for testing belle before sending it on to users ![]()
