Nokia E51 as a wireless card for PC

Is it possible to use the Nokia E51 as a wireless network card for your PC.

That is, can I connect my phone to my PC via USB, and then use my phone's WiFi connection to allow my computer to connect to a wireless network?

No, that is not possible.

If you want to connect your PC to a wireless network you will need to buy a wireless card or dongle for it.  They do not cost much nowadays (£5 + if you shop around).

thanks, also is there anyway to connect to other computers using the phone via wifi to access their data, or is the wifi purely for internet connectivity?

Some models allow you to access content such as music and photo's on a wireless enabled computer.  I'm not sure if the E51 is one of them with it being an older model.

If it has the "home media" application built into it then you can use it with the software on the link below. You will need a wireless router and I believe the computer can either be wireless or wired to the router.
