Hi, I have noticed that on my 5800 the WiFi keps dropping frequently - I mean like every 10 or so minutes? I thought it was a firmware issue on V11, but have recently updated to V.20 and it still drops all the time which is very annoying?
Anyone have any answers to this please. Any help would be appreciated in resolving this issue?
Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by dropping... do you get the "no gateway reply" ?
Regarding the "no gateway reply", I reported this to Nokia, and they said there was no problem with the phone, and that it was caused by my wireless router (strange since I have it with various other routers as well, and sometimes it even solves itself automatically). I neither have any issues with other wireless devices, so for me this is a Nokia bug.

DLJ, what brand of router are you using?

I have issues like this on Netgear routers.
Go into "Tools", "Settings", "Connection", go into "Wireless LAN", and hit the left softkey for "Options".
Go down to "Advanced settings" and select it.
Tell it that, yes, you want to use the advanced settings.
Swap "Automatic Configuration" to "Disabled".
Go down to the bottom of the page and switch "Power Saving" to "Disabled".
You may wish to turn the "TX power level" down if you generally use your handset near your wi-fi hotspot, it'll improve the battery life at the cost of reducing its wi-fi range. You can always change it back.
Then just go "Back" until you get back to the standby screen. That should do it.

Thanks Sockatume, I will try this to see if this works, I will let you know when I get home this evening and try it.
Thanks again

Netgears have been known to be problematic with nokia phones in the past.
Have you checked to see if your netgears firmware is up to date?
I've also read somewhere that "disabling WMM" on the router helps solve the issue but I don't know enough about that to help.

Karan, you do have a 5800, right?
Menu > Setings > Connectivity > Wireless LAN
Select the connection you want to modify > select Options at the bottom of the screen > Settings
Select Options at the bottom of the screen again, > Advanced Settings
