I have a problem when connecting my nokia phone to my bluetooth io play car kit
i have a bluetooth mp3 player and n86 nokia
i want to stream music from my mp3 player and obviously use the phone hands free in car
here lies the problem .. the nokia is using up both the audio profile ~(a2dp) and the hands free profile ,, therefore not allowing my mp3 player to connect because its using a2dp
i want to be able to disable the a2dp streaming on nokia phone , i never need or want to use the phone for music
this question has been asked numerous times before and i cant find a definitve answer
i have tried both the n85 & n86 no good but i have tried an older 6300 and it works
i am really annoyed with nokia for lack of user functionality .. i have noticed with blackberrys on the bluetooth options you can switch audio off
why is this not an option with nokia phones?????????
i have always used nokia phones before without a problem .. looks like change is on the horizon...

Hi,
I have an E71 with the same issue. I rang the IO Play helpline and he was well aware of the problem and said it could be worked around. Here are the instructions he gave me. They haven't worked for me, yet!
------
delete all pairings on io play. hold red and green buttons until it bleeps twice. keep held down then three short beeps. pairings are now deleted!
delete pairings from nokia using the nokia menus.
press red and green to get back to single bleep mode.
turn ignition and phone off
put ignition on, phone on
plug dongle into ipod and get that to connect first (or for you I guess get your MP3 A2DP device connected!)
while ipod's playing, connect phone ( <- I have a problem here. My phone can't see the IO Play while my ipod's connected! I can only use the cached "I saw this device once" listing to connect while the ipod's connected).
Now, he said I'd be asked two things:
audio connect - I should say yes to this
automatic connect - I should say no to this
I have a problem with this too - I don't get asked about the audio connect thing, just about the automatic connect. As soon as I let my E71 connect, it knocks the ipod off!
I'd be really interested if anyone's got this to work on a nokia smartphone.

After a lot of effort I tried something that partially worked. A2DP BT profile on N86 is no enabled if you have already a jack on the phones port of the phone then you can control the hang up and down of a new coming call while listening in A2DP mode an MP3 player but you can not hear or speak from the bluetooth device as the audio is on the phone mic and phones... Its a trick but with a lot of loss. Nokia please give us the oportunity to dissable with a menu option the A2DP when we need to it seems that you can do it please help us
