I give up!

I bought Nokia 5230 last summer and I'm giving up with this piece of brick.

With that phone nothing works with my Mac. Map loader never gets contact with my mobile, notvia USB or Bluetooth. BT connection never works, can not browse my mobile.

Since the beginning this phone has just caused me a lot of trouble in every area. I cantunderstand how someone can produce such a rubbish.

Touch screen stalls, or makes just sudden own choices.

Memory is full (even there is over 1 GB fre space).

I can't find my music from memory card with my phone (they really exist there when I check itwith my computer).

Ringtone changes suddenly.

Navigator "navigates" you to drive thru small paths in a forest, and that has happened manytimes really, I have never found the fastest way to my destination (and I have tried all possible settings).

Some days battery dies very fast, there's no logic why.

etc etc etc

Last experience is that Map Loader problem, not any connection to load maps beforehand.And I wont buy a PC for testing other options.

I just have to ask simple question, WHY? Why we have to stand this? Why we are payingmoney just have our life more complicated and waste our time with this?

I really WAS a Nokia fan, but now I really have to give up and agree what reviews are telling.

This piece of worst designed gadget will accidentally go under the sledgehammer!

Re: I give up!

Sorry to hear of your disappointment using 5230 with a Mac. A lot of your issues stem from problems with iSync plug-in for 5230 and seem to remember also using one posted on forum before Nokia released their official one. You do need connectivity established using Nokia Multimedia Transfer for Mac for Nokia Maploader for Mac to work.

You might like to try the latest version of Nokia Maploader for Mac (1.1 rev 904m) although you may need to un-install existing version and then obtain latest version from here: http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/mac-support which seems to be working again for some users.

Even without Nokia Maploader for Mac it is detailed on the forum how to install maps using direct download links for v3.04 mapping.

It is easy to run out of Phone Memory for running applications on 5230 and doesn't refer to available space on memory card.

You perhaps need to re-format memory card in case of corrupt data entries if losing your music.

Don't get me wrong I know where you are coming from and you don't expect this aggravation with a new device.

If I've helped in any way, a click upon the white star at bottom right of screen would always be appreciated.

However if my answer also solves your problem clickingbelow it will benefit other users!

Yep!

You sure understand that it's easier to buy a new phone than do all those tricks.

Re: I give up!

Indeed it is! namely something that isnt nokia!.  They used to be such great reliable phones but now I think theyre made by a work force of chimps randomly putting them together.

I'm stuck on a contract till next oct with my N97 that does a lot of what your saying.  It re sets itself when your trying to make a call, I've lost all my contact details twice! and none of the apps that are on there work.

My provider has been about as much use as a string vest in a snow storm which doesnt help!.

My thoughts are with you at this difficult time
