On your wireless router you have to select "shared key" in the wireless configuration.

Browsing & mail worked fine through my secure & hidden wireless connection but...
Turning on 'Automatic email Retrieval', especially through 'an Access Point Group', caused one or all of the internet apps to hang every time.

E61 WLAN Configurations

Hello,

I was successful in connecting to "public" WLAN (SSID broadcast) but NOT on a hidden WLAN (SSID Not broadcast).

Do you have any idea, tips to solve my issue ?

Thanks in advance and kind regards.

Everything works fine with mine, except VOIP. Via browser I can connect perfectly to the web, and since I have a static IP I am able to ping the phone from my computer - I receive perfect reply 5-6ms.However, the moment I close the browser, I receive no more replys, which means the phone is being immediately disconnected from the WLAN. Does anybody know a way to keep the WLAN connection always up? Or alternatively a way to effectively activate the LAN connection via the VOIP call?

Thanks

Sometimes works, but other times it says not found, timeout, WPA Authentication error, does not find the network at all if its hidden

E61 Firmware: 1.0610.04.04 19-04-06 RM-89

WLAN connections work, but intermittently.

The problems occur on both the WiFi basestations that I have tried to connect with (one home, one corporate, both routinely used with a variety of other equipment without trouble).

The problem seems to be worse if Bluetooth is enabled. While I have not done any extensive tests, the WLAN connection seemed relatively reliable (bar some web sites that seem to upset the Nokia browser) until a Bluetooth connection was established.

Disabling power saving did not appear to make a significant difference.

It seems likely that there are at least two problems. One is related to the physical 802.11 connection, and possibly related to error rates on the link (depending on the implementation, enabling the Bluetooth link may be increasing the error rates). The other appears to be related to the browser and network stack not handling some web data and/or packet errors well.

The timeouts effectively render the WiFi unusable - to the extent that advertising this device as suitable for concurrent BT and WLAN connections is clearly false advertising.

I hope that a firmware update can resolve these problems.
