E5 connection to wlan lost

Hello, I have a brand new E5 and a WiFi router at home. The problem is my phone keeps getting disconnected once in a while from the router, but then reconnects back. The problem appears pretty frequently when I use the phone. My e-mails are set to be updated automatically so it must keep a permanent connection to the network. I noticed a problem especially when downloading a torrent with my phone. It lost the connection 3 times before downloading 100 MB. Also is there an automatic disconnect feature if inactive?

I have set up my WiFi as a Internet access point that kicks in automatically.

 

The signal is medium strength (the phone shows 50%) and the router is 5 years old, TX power 100mW.  Also, are the advanced settings in the WLAN section of the settings control panel of any use. I'm thinking of power saver especially?
