Re: 5300 storage error

hey....free up some memory in PHONE MEMORY.

because, When the phone recieves any thing from Bluetooth it saves them in the phone Memory TEMPORARILY(until you save them in the MMC).

And you can also SELECT the MMC as the storage media for your Incoming messages.Do it in the Settings option of Messages Menu.

if problem exists post it here.........

KATH.

Re: 5300 storage error

I also seem to have a problem with my new Nokia 5300 in that the memory is coming up as full. I appreciate this is because the phone memory is full but I cant get the memory card to work.

I cant seem to access the memory card section, despite my card being inserted in the side. Any ideas how I use this? Ive tried everything but nothing seems to work. Im beginning to wonder if the memory card isnt working.

Re: 5300 storage error

hi there...

Can you people DO A RESET on your phones ???

may be it is a Firmware problem in the Phone. NOKIA may solve in the next Firmware version.

Cheers,
Kath

Re: 5300 storage error

No reset needed.

When you transfer a file from PC to phone this can happen in two ways:

1. Bluetooth FTP profile
File will be stored in internal phone memory.
When the phone memory is full, note "memory full" will be shown.

2. Bluetooth OBEX push profile
File will be stored in internal phone memory. When there is not enough space, file will be stored on memory card.

Make sure that the Bluetooth stack on your PC is configured so that it transfers files in OBEX push profile (and not FTP profile).

Re: 5300 storage error

Depends on your PC/Laptop, but should be tucked away and hidden in some Preferences/Options window, maybe under "transfer settings" or similar.

I can receive files from others even the Phone Memory is full. You just need the Phone Memory to become full(Tiny space free).
Active phones: Nokia N8-00 Black, Nokia N86 8MP Indigo Black - v30.009.
