i got a wh 701 with my n8

the various controls on the device dont work

the play pause volume  fwd rewind controls

THE SOUND OUTPUT IS THERE VERY CLEAR THOUGH NOT LOUD ENOUGH FOR MY CHOICE BUT ITS DECENT

i gave the headset to nokia care

without any fuss they  promised me it will be replaced    and they did so  gave me a sealed  replacement set

HOWEVER THE PROBLEM PERSISTS ?

IS THIS A COMMON ISSUE OR JUST  WITH THIS PIECE

SINCE I HAVE CHANGED THE HEADSET  COULD THIS BE A PROBLEM WITH MY N8 AUDIO JACK??????

I HAD OBSERVED SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE AUDIO PORT ON CONNECTING MY ALTEC LANSING SPEAKERS TO 3.5 N8 JACK THERE WAS TOO MUCH DISTORTION  WHICH NEVER WENT AWAY SO I DID NOT  TRYIT AGAIN...

The jack is probably to blame why don't you send the phone to nokia care with the headset. Let them test both in front of you. This is not very difficult to diagnose. The WH701 works well with my N82 also so they can easily take another Nokia phone and if it works on that phone and your phone doesn't work with other headsets then obviously the problem lies with the phone.

You can also try a backup and re-install the Firmware

As for my problem, everything worked for the controls on the earpiece when i plug it in however i hear nothing! Can someone help me out with this problem? Thanks a lot =)
