Re: n70 headset

…to cancel it manually, just remove your headset…

…to cancel it virtually (meaning from your phone’s application), you need to go “enhancements” application and cancel it from there…

Re: n70 headset

When i go to enhancement settings there's no cancel option only, loopset, text phone and headset. I don't have a headset and have no idea how it got there.

Re: n70 headset

I don't have a headset so i'm stuck on that one. It's been driving me crazy because i can't use it for calls as no one can hear me. I've tried turning it on and off but its still there.

Re: n70 headset

I guess something (may be) slightly related to the pop-port.
Try clean the pop-port connector.

Re: n70 headset

Yeah...Korngear is right. The Pop-port is jammed up.The phone thinks the headset is plugged in even it's not.

A Nokia Service Center may help.

Re: n70 headset

We had the same problem with a Nokia 1208. After reading this post, the pop-port was cleaned with a fork, and the problem was resolved. I would have used an old toothbrush, but either way, I think it is easily solved (once you know how - thanks all).

Re: n70 headset

If the problem can't be solved by cleaning pop-port and bluetooth is on, make sure there is no bluetooth headset around. Note that even Windows Computers can take over the function of a headset. To disconnect either turn off the Bluetooth headset, turn off the phones Blutooth or go to the phones or computers bluetooth menu and disconnect the headset/phone.
Sometimes the solution is closer than you think... sometimes farther

Re: n70 headset

The answer has been given in this thread, although I'd certainly not advise using a fork to do it...

Re: n70 headset

There's no more you can do as an end-user. There's something (corrosion, goo, whatever) shorting out 2 pins in your pop-port connector and making the phone think that a headset is connected when there evidently isn't one.

What you need to do is take the phone to a Nokia Care Point so they can take a look inside the phone and see if there's anything obvious in there.
