What's the better way of moving several GB worth of data from a smaller to a larger microSDHC card?
1. Can I simply copy the data on the old/smaller card to my PC (using USB mode) and then install the new/larger memory card in my phone and copy it back? This, to me, seems to be the swiftest route to take.
2. Or, is it better to backup the old/small card using PC Suite and then restore to the new/large card? If so, why? Based on prior experience with this method I'm not sure all data is moved...
3. Or, it doesn't matter? Thanks.

I have used option 1 without problems...

Thanks .. also for the swift reply! I'll take your word 'as written'. Let me add a question related to this. In my case I want to upgrade the memory on an E52 from 4GB to 8GB or 16GB.
Are there any pros-cons to use the 8GB or 16GB and what Class should I pick as a minimum? I have Class 4 on the old 4GB card. The largest volume data on the memory card will be country maps, music and some camera snaps/images. Thanks.
Edit: added camera snaps/images.

Hi CeeBee2
I am sure that you remembered on PC to go to Tools > folder options > view > tick "show hidden & system" files first; apologies if not quite right as Mac user.
I have never found issue with Sandisk 8,16 or 32GB but more concerned with data storage rather than say recording video where write speed can be an issue.

It's always set to show hidden...so no problem here.

Most Sandisk offerings are Class 2 (and they are not very open about it, as typically referenced on the back of the packages in small font). Personally I prefer other 'brand name' brands.
Speed, and thus Class, I think, may be an issue as I noticed that my phone got more sluggish as my memory card filled up. As the phone memory (OS) talks with the memory card to check what's on the card .. a higher Class rating should make a difference imo.
So, 'confiture' (Nokia staff) .. let me hear from you too. You may know something I/we don't...

I am not an expert on this to be honest so this is more a comment from personal experience. I am using (no surprise) Nokia Branded 4, 8, 16 and recently 32GB cards. These are speed class 4 and I have had no problems.
Thanks, everything helps here! I changed 18 to 8GB above, as I presume that's what you mean. With your inside contacts, can you please check with a Nokia memory card expert .. to get his/her comments on Speed Class. I.e., does a faster memory card improve the overall performance in general and of the data stored on the card in particular? Can one expect to see a difference with a Class 6 over 4 ... and/or Class 8 over 6, etc.? Finally, is there a card size or a Class one should avoid? Thanks.
