Dear R, Firstly, please do not shout. This is a user-to-user troubleshooting forum, and aggressive behaviour in the community will not assist you. If your battery is part of the BL-5C product advisory, then delivery of replacements is ongoing. Batteries covered by the BL-5C are not classified faulty, Nokia has offered to replace a batch of 46 million batteries made during a particular period because there were incidents with approximately 100 batteries worldwide. There are people, myself included, who have been waiting longer than a month for our BL-5Cs to arrive. The logistical operation involved is enormous, but this is an advisory measure and not a full product recall. The only way to check on the progress of your BL-5C replacement is to re-enter your battery serial number into he battery replacement page - you will see an update there. http://batteryreplacement.nokia.com/batteryreplacement/en/

Re: Nokia issues a product advisory for the BL-5C battery

Hi, I am new user for this discussion forum. I had registered for battery replacement on Nokia website on 14th August 2007 but yet to receive the battery. I have been communicating to Nokia care through mails for past one year but they send a standard reply that they will send it at the earliest. Once I visited a Nokia care center and was told battery out of stock. I am from Chennai, India. Is there any other way to approach Nokia? I found this is the only relevant forum on this topic and hence posted here.

Regards,

Dinesh

Re: Nokia issues a product advisory for the BL-5C battery

Hi,

Thanks for the immediate reply. I have contacted Nokia care by e-mail for one year now. I have been regularly mailing to support.services@nokia.com for a year now. Always they reply that their executives are working on it and will revert at the earliest. But I have not seen any action and now almost 2 years is gone. I am copying one of the reply email I received for your reference.

Regards,

Dinesh

Re: Nokia issues a product advisory for the BL-5C battery

Hi all,

It is proven now that Nokia does not honour it's statement to the media and customers. Yesterday Nokia Care India Technical Support Executive has said that they will NOT send me a replacement battery. He is not able to state any reason for it nor he is willing to give any number for escalation. I would call this as blatant cheating as Nokia had all along said that they will send the battery for past two years. I have decided to go for a non-Nokia phone as my next phone due to this bad experience.

Regards,

Dinesh

Re: Nokia issues a product advisory for the BL-5C battery

I have the same problem. I have registered for the replacemnet 2 years ago. I have contacted nokia by email and phone several times. Till yesterday they kept on telling that they will be sending the battery ASAP. When I contacted them again yeaterday they said nokia will not be replacing any BL5C batteries anymore. And they have no further explanation on this. Nokia just cheated us. They did not keep their promise. I swear I will not buy a nokia again.

Re: Nokia issues a product advisory for the BL-5C battery

The battery costs few hundred rupees and I can buy one always. But what matters here is the public announcement given by Nokia in media that they will replace and now going back on that promise, thus cheating the public.

I am buying Samsung Jet touch phone this week, though initially I considered Nokia 5800 and Nokia 5530 expressmusic editions. But I decided to avoid Nokia phones due to this bad experience.
