I have Ck300 software version 1.600, Nokia N97 on Vodafone V21.0.045.213.03 and Car Menu Landscape V5.0 beta. I have the following issues.
After Car Menu Installation and subsequent music player first use the resident phone music player finds the standard playlist files to be corrupted, locks the phone which needs to be rebooted.
After Car Menu first use the resident N97 Ovi music app cannot find any music.
The File manager application on the N97 can see all the music stored on the N97
With OVI suite connect from PC I can create playlists on the N97 and place music tracks in them, however the N97 phone again can not see them and issues a error and states file is corrupt when accessed.
While the above is all true the CarMenu application can play music using the random function from the Car Menu music player menu.
An observation might be that as the CarMenu opens the playlists it puts its own spin on the playlist files then OVI Music cant read them properly.
Any Sugestions other than Nokia upgrade their software testing to something acceptable for the public domain.

Just my 2c. The CK300 is advertised with the Carmenu app. Yet when you buy it it has an unfinished version of CarMenu! The hardware is there but the software is not.
I like the CK300. It does do everything I want it to (it just has 1 glitch for me in the music player in CarMenu). BUT it would be comforting to know that when buying a product that the product would not still be in "beta" years after its commercial release.

Hi
Is the music you are playing DRM protected ie comes from Nokia Music website. If they are DRM protected, it may be that.
Had no issues with mine playing on MP3.
Hope this helps

I have a similar problem but the music plays on the phone OK so is not protected.
However since the N97 since the latest update 04 2011 the Car Menu is not compatible any more. What a load of rubbish Nokia are at software.

Are you using CarMenu 5.0Beta for landscape devices from here:http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/no
as no issues on N8 although Symbian^3 OS device:

Hi,
I've just installed on my Nokia N8 with latest soft ver 14.0.02 Car menu V5.0 Landscape application and my CK-300 car set started be properly paired with mobile. (formely It wasn't working correctly - despite N8 and CK-300 were paired radio wasn't mute when first connection was established. Next calls caused were processed correctly). Now this problem is solved since Car menu application is starting each time when N8 is paired with CK-300, but I have other issue: I can't find lot of contact from my phone book which has iver 750 entries. This is strange in my opinion, because all phone entries are not exported to Ck-300 and are searched from the same place!

Hi
Are all contacts on the phone memory, or are some on the SIM card?
CarMenu will only pick up from the phone memory, so could this be the problem?

All contacts are stored ONLY in phone memory. any contacts are on SIM card. I'm also using mail fo exchange to synchronize with exchange server, but this should have no any influence for this issue.

Hi,
today I enterd car during call was established and Ck-300 couldn't pair with mobile. It was also impossible to pair devices - there was no option "connect" in bluetooth options. Finally I restared my N8 and after reboot both devices are paired automatically and all contact are seen. It looks that buggy N8 software is still not stable enough.

What software is on the N8?
14.002 I think is latest.
Hopefully "Anna" software will be released soon!!

Yes,
My N8 is currently running 14.002 Soft version. From time to time it can reboot without any reason eg. Last time when I tried to launch OVI Map application from Car Menu level.

My happinest was too early.
It looks that after reboot some contacts which were missed now can be found, but I noticed lot of others are still missed and can't be searched in any way ! Why searchig is not processed in the same way as it is directly on phone?

Next one update. Today I noticed that one of entries in my phone couldn't be found despite it was in phone book and in my exchange contact list. (I had also problem with finding some other contact using Car Menu application) Finally I removed manually this Item, entered it again to exchange and after synchronization item was correctly shown in phone book. Since then other entries also started be visible from Car Menu application. It means that all my issues with phone book are caused by synchronization problems. Now I have question: Hot to verify if synchronization was fully made and all entries are correct? I've in my phone book over 700 entries and it's impossible check it manually each time after finished synchronization. Number of entries in my phone book is always the same as in outlook contact list, so it means that sometimes one of corrupted item can cause problem with searching others.
