Nokia CK-600 - Help Please

Greetings..!

I am using a Nokia Ck-600 Bluetooth system for my car.... It was working fine until somedays back when it didnt switch off even after the car used to be switched off it use to remain on...

I took it the person who installed it and he did some testing and then told me that the main unit is dead... He showed me the main unit and the power cord... there was power in the cord but the main unit simply didnt turn from then on....

Now I have to keep the main unit connected to hear the cars music system..... but the bluetooth system is dead cold...

I believe while he was testing he must have short circuited it...

I hope you have the expertise to help me...

I need help in two ways...

1. I need to know how to loop the main connector so that even after removing the main unit I still can hear the cars audio..
2.How to check whats wrong after opening the main unit...??

@SMAH

You might like to look at this resource:http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/apac/phones/guides/Nokia_CK-600_apac_ug_en.pdf

In answer to:-

1) It is a matter of removing ISO cable plug supplied with CK-600 and replacing plugs attached to car loom back into your radio, hopefully colours of plugs will help you here!

2) There are no user replaceable parts inside base unit HF-23 so I don't think that this will help.

If I've helped in any way, a click upon the white star at bottom right of screen would always be appreciated.

However if my answer also solves your problem clickingbelow it will benefit other users!

Re: Nokia CK-600 - Help Please

What were the symptoms that mean the unit is dead?

Was it that the screen did not light up, or the control button, or both?

Has the unit been exposed to any extreme temperatures?

One thing you, or your installer could try is to connect the main unit to a laptop and flash the latest software to the CK-600.

The CK-600 does not need to be powered, but the screen cable & screen must be attached.

You will need a USB -> Mini USB cable and can download the latest software updater here:

http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/ck-600/software

Hope this helps!

[ Edited ]

Sorry Nokia,

This is the only way I can get a question in as i cant raise a topic...

I had my ck-600 fitted at the start of this year...It worked for approx 10 mins before the screen went blank and the control unit just flashed continously.

I was told it was the unit so returned it....Now having just recieved the replacement the screen is still dead / blank and the control dial is illuminated and no longer flashes.... Should I return all 3 parts now (bear in mind when i recieved the unit it was not protected and just placed in a large plastic ups bag....

Many Thanks

Paul Milnes

Re: Nokia CK-600 - Help Please

Hi Paul

Sorry to hear about the problems you've had with the CK-600, hopefully the below will help.

There's a chance that both the units you have had were / are running older software. In some earlier versions, there was an issue where the unit would shut down at temperatures below a certain level (I forget the exact figure). This was fixed in subsequent software versions, and I have seen a "dead" unit restored just by updating the software.

To do the update, you will need access to the black box under the dashboard, so you may need to get the installer who fitted it to do this.

The Nokia Car Kit Updater (NCKU) can be downloaded from here:

http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/NokiaCarKitSwUpdater.exe

You will need a USB --> Mini USB cable to connect the control box to a PC. Please note that the screen must also be connected to the box in order for the update to work.

The unit does not need power from the car in order to accept the software.

Once the NCKU is downloaded and started, the car kit can be updated with the latest software version (3.05).

As you can imagine, I can't be 100% sure that this is the problem with your unit, but with it being Winter time, I thought it worth a shot!

Hope this helps.
