Nokia 5800 Problems trying to connect via bluetooth with my Toyota Prado Hands free

[ Edited ]

Hi does anyone know how to fix the problem with my Nokia 5800 when I pair for the first time via bluetooth it works fine but as soon as I get out of the car and back in again it wont connect again. I have to delete pairing and re pair device again. It keeps happening and sometimes it picks up the bluetooth but it may only do it once and then not again.

Re: Nokia 5800 Problems trying to connect via bluetooth with my Toyota Prado Hands free

Hi.  I'm experiencing the same problem (Nokia 6220 Classic and Toyota Corolla Hands Free).  It was working fine when I had the older Nokia 6288.  The only temp fix I found so far is to set the Profile to Offline... then back to your normal profile... It seems to auto-connect about 90% of the time.

I've rang Nokia and Toyota and both blames the other so not sure what else to do.

Re: Nokia 5800 Problems trying to connect via bluetooth with my Toyota Prado Hands free

I have installed new kits into lots of Toyota vehicles because the Motorola system fitted by Toyota seems to be rubbish, the complaints from customers are disconnecting frequently and poor microphone quality.

Dannboy, it has nothing to do with Toyota's bluetooth module.

I am also having the EXACT same problem in my 2008 Alfa Romeo 159.  A completely different system, it is called "Blue and Me".

Anyway, my previous nokia 6110 navigator worked perfectly in the same car and auto connected everytime.  My new 6220 classic only pairs successfully the first time since it was last switched on.

Nokia needs to acknowledge it has a problem here.
