N80 and memory card question

I have a Nokia N80 which I bought a Transcend 2GB mini sd memory card for. It was going ok until last night (it's only a bout 3 months old). My phone started to work really slowly and I couldn't open up my gallery at all.
When I connected the phone to my pc and went through the memory card I could open up the images by double clicking on them. However, when Photoshop tried to download the photos the thumbnails were just grey boxes.
After deleting a lot of images I tried the card back in my phone - same results as before. Memory card now has 58MB used.
When I put the original 128MB card in it works fine. This happened just after I'd updated the Nokia PC Suite so at first I thought it was something to do with that. Now it looks like something has gone wrong with the memory card.
Is there anything I can do to fix it? Or can anyone recommend another make of memory card?
Thanks in advance to everyone that offers help.

Re: N80 and memory card question

Hi,

I would suggest taking the mini sd card, placing it into a full size SD adaptor, then putting that into a memory card reader and running Windows Error Checking tool on it to see if it can solve any file system issues.

If that fails, then format the card using your PC, then place the card back into your handset and then perform a format from the handset.

Formating will erase all data from the card.

Transcend as far as I know are a reputable brand, but another well known mini SD card brand is sandisk.

Re: N80 and memory card question

Thanks. Formatting the card has helped. It's now working as normal. I'm a bit wary about adding more photos to it though. Not sure what happened.
