Hi paulv1
Unless you are utilizing proprietary mapping application you may need to purchase software such as Franson GpsGate to enable this:http://franson.com/gpsgate/
I use LD-3W on netbook with Garmin and Google Earth with no issues.

Hi paulv1
Pairing is one matter but have you pointed mapping application towards the correct COM Port?
Once the GPS is paired, the Bluetooth stack will give you a message telling you which COM port to use for your navigation program. You also can find the COM port later by right clicking on the BT icon in the notification bar and choose 'Show Bluetooth Devices'. Click on your GPS device and choose the Properties button. If your device is turned on, it will list the COM port on the Services tab.

Thanks for the response, my laptop is saying output via com 10 and input via com 11.
I have entered this into the Fugawi mapping settings section and it does not like the com 10 entry and rejects it but will accept the com 11
I still believe there is still an issue with the bluetooth link as at now pint have the blue synk light ever srtarted to flash on the LD-4W
I ahve tried it in carphone warehouse with a nocia phone and two othe laptops no blue light.
Have you ever seen this blue flashing light as the manual says
went onto nocia, they were not much knowledable about this product and just said it must be faulty and return it back to the supplier i bought it from
