I have carmenu v2.8P beta on my Nokia 6720 classic.
It takes a good 20 seconds or more for the list of albums or artists to load up, and the same amount of time to navigate to an album or artists music. I have an 8 Gig SDC4 card on my phone with a fair bit of music installed on it. Playing music in the car was actually the reason I bought the bigger memory card
Can this be sped up with a new version of the carmenu application?
Also some time ago a list of shortcuts for the music player were posted on here but I can't remember them. All I remember is that double tapping the call button plays music from the last place.
Apart from that I love the CK-300!
Thanks

Hi
Could I ask ... where is Car menu installed as it needs to be installed on the phone memory, not the memory card.
Sorry I can't help you anymore as I have removed Car menu from my phone now.
Hope this helps

The Carmenu app is installed the phone itself, the music of course is on the memory card. I guess that the carmenu program traverses all the song files looking for tags whenever I click on a menu. The only thing that loads quickly is the Alphabetical list of songs.
I'll time how long it takes next time I get a chance, but it is a looong time. I get to drive a fair distance.
Thanks for your help

I timed it and it is taking 21 seconds.
Could I have a particular file on there that is causing it or is it likely that this is correct?
I remember the music wouldn't even load on carmenu because of a .mp4 video I had on the memory card which I downloaded from the Ovi store. I deleted that and then it worked fine.

I have the same problem with my N95 8GB.
And that isn't the only problem. I have an alarm set for workdays. And then when i drive in my car, every now and than the loud alarm goes on and on the display i have a note for my alarm. As if I would set up a Memo for an alarm... and it's annoying - a lot.
Carmenu is in beta version for a year now (i think) and still there isn't any information about update. However I've heard in february this year from someone on this forum, that there will be an update from 2.8 beta in a week or two. ![]()
