Hi there, new to this so bear with me, i have just brought an E36 328i 1999, and have found it has a ck-7w installed. I have a blackberry curve 8520 and can not get it to pair with the carkit, i have tried resetting the car kit, but still no joy. Any suggestions anyone?

Hi
How did you reset the kit? Was it a case of removing the power supply from the junction box, or the following:
Switch the gnition off, & wait for the LED on the button to go out.
Press and hold the button for about 10-20 seconds.
This procedure will delete all the previously paired devices.
A word of warning though. The CK-7W was discontinued in 2008 and replaced with the CK-100.
One of the reasons was that the CK-7W does not have noise & echo cancellation which is an issue on many newer phones, therefore callers may experience poor audio quality & echo when they call you.
Hope this helps.

Hi there, yes i treid both ways but the remote light only flashes when i turn the ignition on and does not stay lite. When i search for a connection my blackberry finds the carkit but will not pair. I do not know if the unit is faulty or my phone is not compatable. many thanks jon

Hi Jon
So, with the ignition off and the LED off, a long press on the button (20 seconds is a LONG time), the unit did not beep or reset at all?
If the phone can find the unit when it is on, but not pair, it really does suggest that the pairing list on the car kit is full.
If the reset does not work, it could be a power fault, or fault with the unit itself.

Try removing the battery from your Blackberry and waiting 5 mins, this will reset the phone software, then it should allow you to pair.
Please note, this phone will have bad echo when used with this kit, it will be ok if you are just using for basic useage but if you want to use this kit everyday it may be time to upgrade, the ck-100 works very well with Blackbery phones.
