CK-300 new firmware

Hi

Finally wanted to update my CK-300 in my car while having the glovebox out to change the pollen filter.

On the website they claim that the newest version is 1.5 but the software fetched 1.6 and installed it.

Does anyone know if nokia has some sort of changelog from version to version ?

It's super easy to upgrade the CK-300 with the software and the simple homemade USB cable i use.

I am not allowed to discuss the schematics in public because of forum rules. Last time i tried to post the link it was deleted and i was warned.

I am not going to rule out being able to help in private :-)

Re: CK-300 new firmware

Hello,

Great news.

Can you please help me with this cable? I am trying to get hold of one for months now.

Maybe I can make it myself with your kind help.

Nokia does no longer make this cable according to their helpdesk.

Your help is very appreciated. I can't use my n97 mini without a firmware upgrade.

Thanks.

Re: CK-300 new firmware

Hi

The cable has only been issued to Nokia Care centres and appointed engineers.  I would suggest you get in contact with them to arrange a software upgrade

Hope this helps

Hi

PM Sent regarding this.

There seems to be so many posts regarding this, but I have just purchased my CK 300!

Just how do I find out what version my HF-21 is running? Also do you say that the latest version is 16? as I cannot see where to down load this version. Not that I can anyway without the patch lead!!!!!:smileymad:

What problems does the latest version solve?

Cheers.

Re: CK-300 new firmware

Hi redsri

Unfortunately no clues as to what device you intend using CK-300 with but if you use a Nokia Device compatible with CarMenu .sis available here:http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-ck-300/application-software then it appears under "Settings" menu on device. Dependent upon how old stock is your HF-21W may be running v1.400, whereas the latest available using Nokia Carkit Updater application is v1.600. Although software changelog is not in the public domain it does address some Bluetooth connectivity issues amongst others, although a recent poster wished it had been left on previous v1.500 and not updated with their particular usage.

Re: CK-300 new firmware

Hi,

Sorry, forgot to mention, I am using the Nokia X6 with the CK 300. I was just wondering whether the whole Sat Nav Voice Guidance Vs. Bluetooth Audio Streaming and correct priority muting ever got 'sorted' with the latest firmware.

I am trying to hook my CK 300 up to my Blaupunkt in my Renault at the moment (As if I haven't got enough electrical problems buying a Renault :smileysad:)

Please don't mock the afflicted!!! :smileyhappy:

Thanks for any help!

Re: CK-300 new firmware

Also, just to clarify, the CarMenu system is working just fine on the X6. I have yet to buy the audio out lead (Which I will purchase tomorrow) I am just pre-empting the potential problem with the muting.

I shall report my problems....

By the way, is there an option through CarMenu that I can check my firmware version without connecting to my PC?...

Hi redsri

Whilst in CarMenu go to "Spanner icon - Settings" probably "About" but vehicle not around to check at moment and you will find HF-21W firmware version and CarMenu software displayed.

Re: CK-300 new firmware

I have talked at length with Tyler at Nokia on 0845 045 5555 about the cable CA138D and update of CK-300 software with you guessed it no progress. They referered me to the Care Point Centres. which referred me back to Nokia so around and around I went. But then a Care Point Centre put me in contact with an installer who says he will do it for a callout of £35. This is robbery since you can download the updater software and using that you can download the latest release of the CK-300 software. This I have done but how do you get the software from PC to device without the cable. Perhaps you just modify the power/input cable provided with the kit just convert the 3.5 mm jack to usb and hey presto anyone have any Idea. I know with Parrots you can bluetooth updates. Perhaps you can with Nokia stuff. Any comments????

Re: CK-300 new firmware

I connected the kit up and discovered my software version is 1.19 dated sometime in 2008. I can stream music from my N97 although its not 100%. This version does not recognise Maps with the mode button.

All UK Nokia Accredited Car Kit Installers were issued with this update cable.

To find your nearest, please follow this link: www.nokia.co.uk/carkitinstallers

Re: CK-300 new firmware

It appears that many of these agents dont want to own up to the fact that a cable exists. And to charge £35 for an update that most probably contains bugs is not playing cricket. When an individual can do half the job for nothing and indeed completely for nothing to update a phone. surely it Nokias' responsibility to ensure that their product is fit for purpose and not to make money from distributing impertfect software. regards.

Re: CK-300 new firmware

I have located a cable & upgraded my base unit to V1.6 & everything seems to work OK. Due to the cost of the cable I will not lend it out but would be willing to provide upgrade locally to myself in the midlands for a small fee. Although would not be willing to guaretee if it did not work.

Re: CK-300 new firmware

Hmmm. I love how the answer is find a Nokia Care Installer. I unfortunately live in Canada, and shall we say, I am a little in The Wilds of Authorized Car Installers. And upgrading with a Nokia Installer would result in exprerience that would merit me writing a book about it. :/ I wish the cables were more availiable. :smileysad: http://www.nokiausa.com/get-support-and-software/product-support/nokia-car-kit-installer-locator#
