Hi.
I have a problem with my CK-300 installation kit - well I suppose it's the CK-300 that is the problem. I recently replaced my Nokia N96 with an iPhone. The iPhone connects via bluetooth and there is no problem using the two items together. I can place and receive calls. BUT here comes the problem... both my Nokia N96 and the iPhone have this issue. When the phone is connected to the CK-300 I get no beep when receiving a sms or when the calendar wants to notify me with an alarm. The sms or calendar is displayed on the screen but no sound is available.
When using TomTom on my iPhone the speakers voice is gone too.
If I disable bluetooth on the phone everything works just fine...except then I can't use the remote control for the CK-300 :-|
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? If so - I'd really like to hear from you..:-)
Thanks in advance!
Best Regards

Hi jave_dk
Do you happen to know from using CarMenu application on your N96 whether the HF-21W box in CK-300 is running v1.4 or v1.5 firmware although may have no bearing on your issue?

Hi Scoobyman,
No unfortunately not. The box is from march 2009....is this useful in any way?
Thanks for responding :-)

Do you have both the sound outputs from the CK-300 connected to the stereo?
I'm just thinking that these other sounds might be coming out the "Stereo music" cord from the back of the CK-300 (Which is probably connected to your stereos Aux-In) and the call sounds go through the other "Voice" output of the CK-300, which should interrupt your stereo when a call is made, and will also use the Car-Kit speaker if it is connected.
Someone else might have to confirm this is the case. Basically if you can play music through your N96 while using the "Car-Menu" application on the phone then the stereo output of the CK-300 is connected.
This may not be the problem, I'm definitely no expert. Just a possibility

HI
The CK300 was designed to be used primarily, in conjunction with an S60 Nokia Device, and for that it works brilliant, it was also secondly to pair and work ok with other devices (say for instance if partner had a basic phone and they wanted to use the car kit)
The CK300 will only allow voice calls to mute the stereo. It will only mute for everything on N Series and E Series Devices, when you have the Car Menu app installed on the phone.
The Remote button will not work with the Iphone as the Iphone does not support the bluetooth profile called AVRCP (Audio Video Remote control profile), which is required for the button to work with it.
Hope this helps

Hi again - sorry for the late answer.
My remote works fine as an answering/ ring off/ volume button with my iPhone now.
The problem is now and was also with my N96 that sounds from ie. an sms or calendar alarm is gone. It didn't work with my N96 with the Car menu installed and it doesn't work now with my iPhone either. When bluetooth is enabled on either phones the notification sounds are gone. As soon as bluetooth is disabled the notification sounds returns.
My Nokia box is a type: HF-21W
It also says P51 on the label and HW 1002
HOpe this is useful

Hi jave_dk
Unfortunately the only way of determining which firmware version is installed on the HF-21W is by using CarMenu application on a paired S60 device, where it is found under the "Spanner" settings icon. If you purchased in March 2009 it is going to have a pretty old firmware version and there may well be 2 or 3 updates since then. Hopefully confiture might pick up on this issue as it would be pointless to go to the time, trouble and expense of updating this unit for nothing.

Hi Jave
Please connect your N96 again with car menu loaded and ensure that the ck-300 is set to mute radio for "all audio events"
You can also check (as Scoobyman says) which software version your kit has by looking at the product information part in car menu.
If it is version 1.4 or newer there should be no problem.
A friend of mine has V1.4 with an iPhone and the muting happens for sms and calls as it should.
Hope this helps.

Hi Confiture,
The problem I'm experiencing is not that the sound from the radio doesn't mute when there's an incomming call or sms. The problem is that the system whether it's an incomming sms, a calendar event or when I use the TomTom navigation app doesn't inform me with sounds when the bluetooth is active - the sms beep, or calendar beep or the voice from the TomTom guide is gone.
When I disable bluetooth on the phone the sounds are back. This is going on with both the N96 and the iphone. Bluetooth is the problem!
When bluetooth is active, the phones works fine with the handsfree setup. The radio is muted whenever there's an incomming or outgoing call. All other sounds, alarms etc is missing then.
When bluetooth is inactive, all sounds are back. I can hear the TomTom speaker etc - but this now comes directly from the phone ofcourse. And I can't ofcourse not use the phone with the handsfree setup either.
I hope I have explained it better this time. Thanks for your effort to solve my problem :-)
Can I upgrade the firmware myself?
Best Regards

Hi jave_dk
You would need to beg, borrow or buy a CA-138D cable such as:http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/info/p6
