CK-300 + E71 (Voice Navigation Issue)

Hello,

I have read many frustrated messages about this issue on this forum.

I own a Nokia E71 and bought a CK-300 so I could use the device as an in-car MP3 player, hands free phone and Sat-Nav.

The problem is that the Sat Nav voice guidance refuses to play through the same channel as telephone conversations. Instead, the sound only comes through the AUX input on the radio. The CK-300 does not mute the radio when voice guidance is active.

I have contacted Nokia about this. I am going to see if somone can upgrate the CK-300 software to V1.4. I am unsure about what software version the CK-300 is currently running.

I am running all the latest versions of all relevant software on the E71 (Maps, E71 Software, Car Menu).

I doubt anyone can shed any more light on the issue? I think I have found everything out about this that is available in the public domain. It is a shame that Nokia has left it up to the users to sort this issue out rather than supplying clear and concrete guidance on how to make the CK-300 work correctly with all the devices on its compatability list.

I will keep you updated on what happens.

Re: CK-300 + E71 (Voice Navigation Issue)

Hi

Just to confirm to you that 1.4 does NOT solve your problem.

Calls is routed via the mono link but all other kinds of music, navigation routing and so on will only go out thru the stereo connector.

I think that alot of people would wish for Nokia to atleast make it possible to choose to have all audio routed via the mono port. My car radio only has mono in and therefor i will have to keep my phone OFF the carkit when going on holiday in a month because otherwise i dont get voice navigation.

They dont even give an option to route all audio minus calls to the phone's own stereo speakers.

All in all i am a bit disappointed in how badly implemented a NOKIA carkit can be with NOKIA phones.

Nokia should really get their finger out of you know where and give people som options.

If you really want to upgrade to 1.4 i might be able to help you out with some tips. If this sounds interesting please PM me.

Re: CK-300 + E71 (Voice Navigation Issue)

Hi qaxis

Can you give us details concerning vehicle in which your CK-300 is fitted because as long as you get software v1.400 on HF-21W and you change to "All audio events" in CarMenu > Settings, you should get a mute for navigation when listening to the radio or if listening to music from the phone the kit will play the guidance over the top of the music?

Happy to have helped the forum in a small way from 2007-10

Re: CK-300 + E71 (Voice Navigation Issue)

Scoobyman,

I have installed the kit in a VW polo using the supplied ISO cable.

I am sorting out a cable thanks to some help from a member of this forum.

I should quickly mention that I have also set the option to mute on all audio events in Car Menu.
