CK-100 and iPhone 4?

Hi,

I have just got a new car and want a decent car kit for my iPhone 4. I've decided on a ProClip bracket and mount, but need a decent bluetooth car kit, without a large display.

Does the CK-100 work well with the iPhone 4, and does it have any limitations? The Nokia site shows compatibility for the 3GS, but not the 4.

Also, can the iPhone 4 send music over A2DP Bluetooth to the car stereo (rather than use the AUX input on the stereo)?

Thanks everyone!

Derek

HI

The CK-100 is ideal for the scenarios you are talking about, as it only has a small button which will sit on the dash in a convenient position.

It also also has a built in amplifier which negates the need for Aux in the car ( this is only limited by the car's audio system

Hope this helps

Re: CK-100 and iPhone 4?

Hi,

Thanks - so the iPhone 4 is fully supported then? (I've read the 3GS is, but couldn't find confirmation for the iPhone 4).

The sound system in the car has an AUX in which I'm currently using with my iPhone and a 3.5mm jack lead.

If I use the CK-100 to stream A2DP audio to the stereo, will this disable the existing AUX socket?

My primary source of music will be the iPhone 4, and since I have a lovely BOSE sound system, I really want to be able to make the most of it, and I've heard that the CK-100 audio will only come through the front two speakers, so I'm wondering the best way of setting this up (and I'm guessing the car amp is better than the CK-100).

Thanks again,

Derek

Hi

If your car has an aux in connection, the CK-100 and iPhone 4 will work VERY well together.

I have personally installed a couple of these kits for people with this kit. One using the kit's own amplifier, and one using an aux in connection.

the stability is good and audio excellent. The A2DP connection is between the phone and the kit. It will still need to be connected in some way to the audio system, but  can be connected so you don't lose the existing aux socket.

You cannot connect two music sources at the same time though. This will mean choosing an installer who has a good understanding of the connectivity .

What car do you have (Audi maybe?), and where are based?

I have CK-100 and iPhone 4. Works great, it even plays the phone's own ring tones when call comes in (older OS versions didn't do that). Also the voice control works. I have installed the audio streaming to use radio's own aux input back of the radio (not oem radio). Couldn't get it properly to work otherwise with Audi's active amplifier (required also a small relay for electronics store to cut the amplifier signal).
