Better 5800 car holder?

I have a 5800 and the proper 5800 car holder and it works great - apart from the fact that the GPS then doesn't work.  I drive a Vauxhall/Opel Zafira which apparently has a coated front window and it seems that in the standard holder, the 5800 is too close to the window and can't hold a GPS lock.

Putting the 5800 on the top of the dash "works" (I get a good GPS lock) but the holder won't hold onto the supplied rubber pad and the whole lot keeps falling off.

So anyone recommend an alternative holder which sucks to the window but which has a longer "stand off" to keep the 5800 further back from the glass, closer to me, and in a position where it can hold a GPS lock?  Or how the heck is the rubber pad supposed to work on the dashboard?

What is the model name / number of the holder you are using?

Re: Better 5800 car holder?

FYI, I've found that a number of car shops sell generic holders which have longer "snakes" between the suction cup and the holder.  One of these has proven to be perfect for the 5800 in my Zafira as I can firmly attach it to the windscreen, but the 5800 is still close enough to see.
