I frequently find myself in the situation that I have to apply the Spock like grip on the headset (Multi-Switch+Rewind+VolumeDown )  in order to get it connected to my pc. How can I prevent this.

ok, I think I'm the only one who has a n97mini and a BH-905 on the planet, but Nokia is really trying to upsell
