Hi, using a Nokia 6210, when I plug the standard OEM headset in, it comes up with 'use phone microphone' and the mic on the headset does not work which makes it difficult to use when in the car.

Click on headset and "set as default"

Cheers mate but it didnt fix the problem, when I plug in the headset it asks;

Select Encancement;

- Headphones

- Lineout

- Music Stand

Seems as if its not recignising the headset, I have tried another headset, same fault. 

Should I have 'headphones' or 'headset' as default?

The headset provided with the phone is not intended to be used as a handsfree kit whilst driving (it is considered dangerous to have cables running across you whilst driving - you could catch them and distract yourself from the road - they are intended for the music and video players only. You have to use the phone mic because the headset has no mic.

For in-car use you need a wireless (Bluetooth) headset.

Thanks for the heads up, I understand what you mean with the cables, thing its, it worked fine with the mic a few weeks ago, just stopped working.
