To keep the forum nice and tidy can all N79 owners post all bug/fix/errors here. By doing this it will make it easier for other users to read and post there comments regarding the new firmware so no need for serveral different post containing N79 firmware bugs and errors. If you come across any helpful tips regarding the v31.0.101 update do feel free to post them here so others can read and solve problem/s regarding the Nokia N79 update.

Also can Moderators please join other post to this thread those who make new and multiple posts regarding Nokia N79 update. Easier for everyone.

How come there are two versions on NSU,

1. 31.002.53.1----Dated --(25-08-2009)

2. 31.101.53.1--- Dated --(08-10-2009)

Can any one tell the diffrence

Sim contacts bug is fixed.

Improvements:

- Picture quality is far better than the previous firmware.

- Auto-Focus is more reliable, perhaps.

- Rotating to landscape crashes when Album art visualization is used. Album art is 300x300.  However 600x600 is ok.  (Pending Update)

Its working fine on my phone, wht version are you using.

Bugs fixed (that I have noticed in the past hours since updating)

FIxed:

slow to prompt headphoneplugged in prompt when normal headphone is plugged in and phone is in keylock mode. Prompt is now rapid. 

UI more responsive in music player (e.g. response immediately when you start to type to search for an aritist's name)

Not fixed:

"accept this certificate permanently" for webcerts, still doesn't work for my companies site.

The 31.002 update failed on my N79 RM-348 (30.019)

Any reason why this doesn't work on my phone?

Please try on diffrent system, or diffrent OS. it will get updated

have same problems with updating - NSU does not update firmware.

gets forever stuck while downloading firmware update at 72.9 MB of 153.2 MB

I note that when change the theme on teh phone (tools / settings / general / personalisation / themes / general) and then select BLACK as the theme - it works for a few days and then suddenly reverts back to BROWN

No matter how may times I reset it to BLACK, it decides after a few days to revert back to BROWN.

This makes NOTES very difficult to read.  The BLACK setting makes the font used in NOTES a lot easier to read

I noticed that IMAGE STORE on PC SUITE got very slow after previous upgrade.  Anyone else have this problem ?

Can only download pictures using usb cable now - bluetooth way too slow now.

Bugs Found (Still not updated) V.31.002

Music Player:

- Proper Album track listing error. Create its own track numbers.

- 300x300 size Album Art bug using visualization. Music Player crashes when rotating to landscape.

Profile:

- Auto phone lock when selecting to Offline mode.

TV Out:

- Very slow when browsing in Photos Application.

Hoping to finalize this soon. If not, we will celebrate its 1 year old pending update.

FOTA Update.

Did not see any significant visible changes, except that system speed seems to have increased. If there any official changelog ? 

i am not able to update my phone to 31.0.101

it is  showing me 31.002 is the latest

and silencing cal using accelerometer is also not working
