What version did you have in your E70 before the upgrade?
Did you try to remove the battery and put it back?

I experienced exactly the same today. I had the same firmware. The phone is now on its way for maintenance.
Has anyone successfully upgraded the E70? What firmware version was installed and what was fixed? -Nicolas

Yes, can we *please* have changelogs published for each upgrade. It makes a huge difference for those of us trying to explain to the general public/readers why and when they chould upgrade their firmware....

Then syvanen I take that to mean the answer to one or more of my questions is YES.
These are common reasons for FW failure, not just on phones, but PDA's. Hence my simple questions. I don't see what the issue with answering them is!
Oh and I missed out firewall too. It's the most common cause of killing devices during fw upgrades, and the PDA forum I frequent is full of people slagging FW as duff when they bork their upgrade!Message Edited by getsurfers on 11-Sep-2006 09:06 PM

A [software] firewall stops traffic types, not just between your PC and the net, but locally too - and USB is a common one stopped. Unless you turned it off, then your firewall would have been automatically started by windows, and running in the background (talking software such as Windows Firewall, Norton/Mcafee firewall/security suites etc etc). Hence why many have to add programs such as activesync and Nokia suite to a list of allowed apps, otherwise they fail.
My N80 would keep getting lost by windows UNTIL I added Nokia suite to list of allowed apps on my firewall.
Firewalls, again are the biggest cause of lost devices, or data interuption.
Anyway, if your phone is dead, then you need to get it to your nearest NSC. This is your only way of getting it working again. If you beleive this is a common flaw, then you need to report this to Nokia using the contact form. Nokia support do not read these forums, only users and mods.Message Edited by getsurfers on 11-Sep-2006 10:08 PM
