Well, for anyone who cares, Australia has the update OUT again. Me and a friend just updated our phones not long ago. His phone is pretty laggy, but it was really slow before hand. My phone isn't any faster but the scrolling feature is great. Very smooth, effective and useful. Yet to notice any other changes.

When I got my N96 last year, there were two updates on two months AND THAT WAS IT!!! 12.043 was the last N96 firmware version for N96 in Asia-Pac - and that was a YEAR ago! Nokia certainly likes to **bleep** on their customers from a great height!

zOMG what a steamin crock i hit update via NSU (uk version) it says its available, downloads, backs up data n says will take ~15mins welll..... so it shud work then but... it starts, says phone will go blank and off, ignore usb warnings etcetc i click go phone flashes a few different screens, then goes blank all to be expected according to the advisory but nooo as soon as its goes off, the fcuker says "lost usb connection. update aborted. attempt to restore" with "take battery out and reset" bolox announce updates when ur 3rd rate software engineers are capable of at least 50% success rate nublets
Do u believe in love @ first sight, or should I post again?

Well, it looks like v2.0 has been released in the UK -on my de-branded N97 anyway. Just updated mine and now wish I hadn't: 1) I can't access the internet at the moment, because Destinations reports a System Error when trying to access it -so presumably access points don't work. 2) My PC won't connect to the phone -or is it vice-versa?- via the USB cable, so no PC Suite / Ovi connection anymore. And this is after using the phone for 2 minutes. Nokia have lost it completely. No point ranting in this forum since they don't listen. Any fix for the Destinations 'System Error' issue -without having to reinstall everything from scratch? (can't even remember how many times I've done that since I've had this phone).

I upgraded to V2 and had no faults or errors (UK SimFree). Interface is much better with the improved scrolling and my GPS lock when outside is within 4-5 seconds and gives me a solid lock. A big thumbs up from me on the new firmware

Btw, have you tried the "slider" on your screen when you get an incoming call.? On the touch, slide your finger along the "arrow" to answer the call. Just a first gut feeling based on your comment...?
Jauhis - a) Given that the device is supposed to be a touchphone, the arrow on screen is counter-intuitive. User inclination will be to hit the icon firs, I fumbled with this one a bunch of times, before realizing that I am supposed to "Unlock the Phone" to take the call. The Unlock Slider was not reliable till V12 version of firmware, and one had to struggle a bunch of times with Slider before the device unlocked. I have had 100% call losses by the time I unlocked the device the caller either disconnected or switched to Voicemail. b) How difficult was it to carry forward the technology from keypad based versions of Nokia Smartphone, where one could take incoming call even when the device was locked by hitting the green "Call" button. That N97 has green button to dial or receive a call, why does the firmware not simply switch control to green button when there is incoming call like the previous smartphones from Nokia Stable :-? V20 has now provided Kinetic scrolling which is good, but some of the apps e.g Tweets60 (available at Ovi store) are not aware of the upgrade in V2 firware. the screen can't scroll for these apps. Didn't Nokia work with Partners to test these glitches before releasing the firmware. I have been a big Nokia Proponent. But I will not be confident to recommend a Nokia after the N97 "Experience"
