Finally, a way to remove the Boingo Access Points without having to reset the phone.  It won't remove Boingo, but it will at least get rid of the access point the program creates:

Woohoo, my first star!

Actually, it wasn't a find, I sent a strongly-worded email to Boingo complaining and they eventually replied with a link.  I call that progress!

Thank you very much for this. It is total pain to try to get connections working when that App is installed. I had no idea it was such a program, I was just going to test different connections. I just got my N97 so I didnt have to fight very long with Boingo thanks to your link.

A double Kudos for this one.

I "accidentally" started Boingo after I updated to V12 (I really wanted to check if I could remove it or not, and had no intention of starting it).

To my utter surprise, I was presented with a EULA screen, where I was expected to approve the license. However, there was no way to decline. The only available button at this stage was "OK", which I wasn't ready to select. From the task manager I aborted Boingo (how can they have an EULA screen where you can't decline the license conditions???). However, what was worse that even though I never approved their license, the bloody program still installed the access point. So basically, this program starts installing things, by their license, even though I don't agree to their conditions. Shouldn't that be illegal?

Downloading the remover now. Thanks a million for getting them to release this.

Kudos!

Indeed thank you very much for this! This app sure was a bother as everyone else agrees. Now i have just a slight problem... I had the boingo remover installed on my phone... But where do i go to get it removed? I looked everywhere in my folders, but i can't find where file was directed to after installetion. I see it in my installations mgr..and the original boingo is still installed

People are confused.

This application do *not* remove Boingo. It only removes the internet access point from the access point list. If you start Boingo, it will install an access point in your list which you cannot remove. The app will remove that access point.

Boingo itself can't be removed (yet).

You're welcome.

As for removing those apps, you're stuck with the I'm afraid as they're currently in ROM. Would be good if Nokia let us get rid of them. I've moved them into a drawer to 'hide' them and prevent accidental launching of Boingo.
