C'mon man all i wanna do is take photos off my phone

I've installed , removed and reinstalled the software off the CD twice now and once downloaded the latest software from the net. Each time i've been careful to have my phone set for default USB mode. I havent plugged it in too early either. I have a ca 53 lead


The first time when I was asked to connect I got a constant hourglass. I tried a few different ports. no use.

So i reinstalled the software. restarted computer. same thing

I downloaded it form the web

Now it wont even recognise the phone and it's asking me to reinstall.

I'm going nuts here. Please tell what i'm doing wrong

You need to uninstall PC suite. Reboot. Try re-installing. You need to load cable drivers 1st. Else your PC wont recognise your phone

I have a 6234 and have had exactly the same problem. When I first installed PC Suite it worked no problem, but then it started to crash and I tried uninstalling and reloading exactly as you suggested to the other user. Same result - stuck on hourglass. As I've only had the phone for two weeks I feel like taking it back and getting a non-Nokia instead.

Now, after installing NSU 1.3 i have the same problem, my PC (WinXP sp2) don't recongnise the phone connected via USB.
i removed all (NSU, PCsuite, cable drivers) and reinstalled only PCsuite but doesn't work...

help!

I have big problems with 6233 in Ubuntu Linux too. I think the problem is in phone, 'Cos with my 6230i and E60 I have no problems.

I have the same problem with a 6280. I've just removed and reinstalled PC Suite for about the 3rd time. Tried a different directory.

Installed the latest versions.

At first it said not all components had been installed and I should reinstall the software.

Now it just fails to recognise the connection type.

What does it all mean? How to fix it?

I just found another topic specific to 6280 where I got my answer.

Using that advice I went to Control Program, Add Or Remove Programs, selected PC Nokai Suite, selected Support Information, and selected Repair.

Then I selected PC Connectivity. Selected PC Connectivity Solution, selected Change, and Selected Repair.

After this when I ran PC Suite it recognised the connection, I could see the 6280 in the list of connected phones, and now I can backup the phone numbers, download photos.

It can be made to work, so don't give up!!!

Hello. I just read and tried ap003's trick written above and it worked! I bought an ebay ca-42 made in china cable ($6.50 including shipping), and after 4 hours of fiddling, it didn't work. I then phoned nokia customer support, who were polite and helpful, but they (he) concluded that I needed an official nokia ca-42 cable ($70). Not! Thank you ap003!

hello,
i have recently installed linux ubuntu 7.10 and i was intrigued by your post.
how and where do i get the software for my 6233 onto my ubuntu laptop?
and have you resolved any of the issues you referred to in your post?

I am running PCLinuxOS, and i also have a data cable and a 6233. Is there any freewear around to get this thing to connect, i want more music and to put my picture in the computer.. surly there must be some around somewhere.. can you point me in the right direction?
